sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Oct 28, 2007 Tasted 10/20/07. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a golden hue. Layer of bone white head. Malt dominant nose. Caramel with a touch of grassy hop aromas. Candy sugary. Touch apples. Smoother and easier than the previous tripel(Boulevard Long Strange Tripel). Higher gravity yet malt dominant. Mild hops. So smooth with a slight tinge of mild effervescence. More cloying. Malty bready and spicy. Sticky. Wonderful linterpretation! davhix (36), Colorado, USA Oct 18, 2007 i live in colorado so i drink this a lot. aroma is pretty lightweight, but pleasant. fantastic pale orange/yellow color, but consistently wimpy and short-term head. maybe it’s the altitude. starts with initial sweetness and finishes with a dry, bitter feel. suggested 45 deg temp, i let it warm up a bit more than that. it’s no affligem or westmalle, but it’s pretty danged good. RSRIZZO (1345), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 11, 2007 Had this beer on 3/5/1999. Color is a nice gold with good carbonation and a light head. Aroma is very light with hint of malt. Taste is rich and sweet. It starts with a light/medium body that goes down with the feel of a sweet wine/cider kind of taste. Finish is this malty sweetness with a light hop bitterness in the background. Overall it a good beer. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Oct 9, 2007 10/09/2007: New Belgium Trippel Belgian Style Ale pours a crystal clear, sparkling gold color (orange tint) with a really foamy off-white head. The carbonation is quite lively and comprised of large, champagne-like bubbles. This beer smells like Hawaiian bread tastes - sweet and slightly bready. There are also whispers of a soft Belgian fruitiness and alcohol in aroma. The flavor initially showcases the natural flavors and sweetness of the malts used and then deepens to include some fruity and spicy qualities as it approaches a finish that is a bit more dry. Some alcohol also tickles the noce through the finish. Absent in the flavor is that bright metallic quality that is sometimes found in Trippels, but that is okay with me! The flavors are extremely well-balanced. This beer has a medium body that is really quite smooth and is soft on the palate. Overall this is a flavorful Trippel that exceeds expectations and is easy to drink.

BelgianBeerGal (1275), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 1, 2007 33cl bottle. Poured out a nice golden colour with a medium white head. Very nice and light but maybe a touch too much hop for a tripel. Not quite a true Belgian but they’re getting closer. Enjoyable. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Sep 22, 2007 Updated: Jan 8, 2009On tap. A deep golden color with a white head. Aroma of fruit (mostly banana) and spices. Spicy yeast flavor greets the tongue and with fruity undertones that give way to a smooth finish. Good beer. bitbucket (2026), Kirkland, Washington, USA Sep 22, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear bright gold with a fluffy white head. Aroma of fruit and spice. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet and spicy taste with fruit, citrus. Dry spicy finish. goldbrew (99), USA Sep 22, 2007 Updated: Oct 2, 2007Aroma of caramel and citrus. Straw gold color with a fairly deep head. Very full and robust creamy mouthfeel. More caramel and stronger wood and spice with the finish, but the flavor seems to collapse too fast and loses structure. The 2nd tasting date didn’t impress me like the first. A bit too hot with the alcohol, but clearly a whole body-warming beer.
