Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Aroma of caramel and citrus. Straw gold color with a fairly deep head. Very full and robust creamy mouthfeel. More caramel and stronger wood and spice with the finish, but the flavor seems to collapse too fast and loses structure. The 2nd tasting date didn’t impress me like the first. A bit too hot with the alcohol, but clearly a whole body-warming beer.

Clear golden yellow with a bright white head. Apples, pears, and alcohol on the nose. Flavor is very fruity, minimal yeast bite, and a peppery finish. Medium-full bodied. A bit of alcohol in the flavor and aroma. Something here just ain’t workin’ for me.

A clear gold with a sizeable white head. Not what I would expect a tripel to look like at all. Nose is mute. Mild hop notes. Very little hitting me off of it. Flavor is very smooth. I can tell this is not of Belgian origin, but at the same time I can tell that it is made by someone who is committed. Sweet edge. Flavor ride doesn’t last long. Feel is good. Smooth and even. Highly drinkable. I wouldn’t normally consider a tripel to be a sessionable brew, but this one is worth having more than one of. Not the type to have one bottle of and dwell on. It is more the style to grab a six pack of and drink in one sitting.

Got this one bottled, thank you <a href = "http://www.ratebeer.com/View-User-19511.htm& Clear, dark yellow pour with a filmy white head, banana and raisin in the nose, a bit smokey but uninspiring finish.

Spicy aroma with some coconut and some light malt. Pours gold with a small head. Fruity and spicy. This one has notes of clove as well. Pretty light. This one could be pretty dangerous at its alcohol content. It finishes somewhat crisp. Probably from the Saaz hops.

Poured a hazy yellow with a puffy, pillow of white head. The nose was of bready malt, coriander and lemony, grassy hop notes. The taste began dry with a crackery malt base and expands towards a bready, sourdough. A light fruitiness rises next with orange zest, pineapple and lime with a spark of coriander and a white pepper spiciness that melds with a hoppy lemongrass end. Nutmeg was very aparent in the finish and a slight alcohol burn softly warms the mouth. The feel was thin to medium. This is a fine Belgian ale that costs far less than it’s imported counterparts and it’s made right here in the Rocky Mountains.

From Montavilla Beer Fest 2007--Light copper colored, but darker than most trippels. Earthy and hoppy for the style. Smooth, spicy, sweet like honey. Yeasty and crisp. Interesting brew.
