Sparkling orange-golden color; head is very full, creamy but slightly rocky, and brilliant white with it being somewhat lasting and leaving random lace. Nose is lots of orange peel, pepper, Belgian yeast, floral, and light banana with some subtle toasty caramel. Flavor is similar, orange peel, spicy pepper, plenty of yeast, light banana bread note, maybe some clove in there; bitterness is medium-low but the spiciness adds some separation from the malt sweetness. Palate is very lively, medium in body, and a creamy/watery feel to it. Finishes a little short, as with a lot of tripels, with banana, clove and pepper, spicy and sweet. Nice tripel with more spice than most and certainly refreshing in comparison to most of the style from Begium. Nice to have such great beers from a brewery in my backyard, almost literally. eeblah (79), Arizona, USA

Since my favorite style of beer is belgian this one also is at the top of list. Very tasty malty beer that has other complex undertones. Nice dark amber color rounds this one out danfosha (36), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 3, 2007 From the bottle. Pours the color of a light grade maple syrup with pink highlights. Tiny carbonation beads, looks like champagne. Aroma of caramel, banana pie, molasses, baked bread. Palate has good acidity, balanced bitters. A really good beer. mreusch (723), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 3, 2007 Bottle; pours a clear golden color with an enormous white head that dwindles some but sticks around throughout; good lacing. Strong yeasty aroma of banana jumps out at the start of the pour, followed by licorice and slight clove. Taste follows the aroma, with the addition of more spice. As you go along the cloves start to take over and drown out everything else. The finish is very clean and dry, but the clove just sticks around, which ends up being distracting. Pours a crystal clear medium straw-amber with a towering thick rocky, moussy white head. Actually a bit of a geyser, which brings us to the next point, the nose--gimungous candi sugar notes; when this thing hit the counter (and no mistake, plenty of it hit the counter), the whole kitchen smelled like bubblegum. These yeasts are like wild broncos, and brewing and blending these styles is the rodeo of zymurgy. The attack is medium bodied, moderately carbed, and assertively flavored--more sticky candi sugar again. Some herbal hops on the finish but really not much in the way of a flavor palette for this one. I thought, honetly, it would be more interesting than it is, but it tastes like something out of a trappist pop machine...all sugar. lukin013 (211), Columbia, Maryland, USA

Flavor starts out with some earthy malts, spices and yeast and finishes with citrusy hops. kopher (297), New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 22, 2006 Cloudy orange with tons of white foam that never dissipated. Citrussy and old fruit aromas, similar flavor. Very light and tangy feel, nice smooth finish. Almost like a hefe.
