Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Just not my style. More malty flavored than hopped. Definite alcohol finish with a hint of sweetness.

A disappointment mainly because I was expecting better from New Belgium. The flavor was clove spicy to start, but quickly yielded to an artificial plastic taste. Average frothy head atop a golden body. Diminishes quickly. Aroma of flowers, clove, peach, plums. But the aroma seemed somewhat muted.Thin to medium body with a thin texture and average carbonation. Peppery, alcohol finish. Mediocre.

Truly a quality beer, but rather light for a tripel. It pours a clear golden body with a fluffy white head. Nice fruity aroma, sweet cherries & plums, with a lightly sweet malt, and a slightly soapy yeast. Very soft and smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is a pleasurable blending of tastes suggested by the nose along with the merest touch of alcohol. Very nice.

One of the better offerings from New Belgium, a rather smooth beer with hints of hops, yeast, and alcohol. The overall taste from first sip to the aftertast is a bit week overall.

Decent beer, just not much going on here. Alcohol is well hidden. Golden in color with a very minimal white head. Smells of yeast. Tastes of alcohol and some malt

Pours a clear golden with a big white pillowy head. Aroma is belgiant yeast, sugar, breadiness, some light fruits. Flavor is not quite as spicy as most, with more of an emphasis on light fruits than on breadiness/yeastiness. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Has a bit of ctirus taste in the finish. Finish is fairly short.

Poured golden color, head dissipated quickly. Aroma is very similar to what you would expect from a good belgian beer, as is the taste. Palate feel was thin, yet almost buttery. Nice fruityness to the whole experience, and overall a tasty beer.

Pours a rich and surprisingly clear gold with a fine white head.

The aroma comes on heavy with a surprisingly wild lambic-like funkiness, somewhat sour, a bit of leafy hops. The flavor is somewhat more traditional, mild hints of sweetness on the front, a bit of citrus/lime peel through the middle, bitter finish melded with some warm malty sweetness.

The mouthfeel of this one is thin, the flavors are relatively weak, and the funky barnyard aroma seems curious for the style - but the overall gestalt of this beer is better than one might expect given the individual components. Which is about as strong of an endorsement as I can muster.
