Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Light blonde, relatively clear for the style, nice white head that fades slowly and leaves a good lace. Aroma is slightly yeasty, lemony, citrus, phenolic, spicy, peppery, and hints of safron, and cloves. Nice flavor profile, with lots of bready malts, cloves, spices, and a nice hoppy bitter finish. Body was a bit weak, but pretty smooth overall.

This is a good attempt by a US brew to create a Belgium style beer. NB Brewery has a few other Belgium style beers, but this is their best one.

Big creamy head develops over a clear golden pour. Light spicy and yeasty aromas. The flavors are subtle, with no single flavor dominating. Some light fruit, bread, spice, and floral hops. Light to medium mouthfeel. clean, but not bitter finish.

good one although it gets a lower rating because i expect a trippel to rock at least 8%. this beer has nice body but i think the bopsy of it clouds the taste it kinda tastes like a thick wad with a hint of spark at the end

[Bottle] A deep nice golden color. A very warm aroma with a hint of spices through out the nose. Loved the flavor and the whole body of the beer. A great winter beer and can be drank by anyone. Nice mouthfeel and the beer was just great to drink. They have a good product at this brewery.

Pours a rich, deep gold with a slight haze. The head is pure white and creamy in texture. The aroma is slightly herbal, cinnamon and oranges. The flavor is dulled for some reason, a bit of malt, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot going on, especially considering the aroma. The mouthfeel is very carbonated, almost foamy to begin, but settles down as time goes on.

A honey color, slightly hazy with small, white, sparse islands of small bubbles and a ring around the edge of the glass for a head. Spicy hops, bubble-gum sweetness with slight woody notes. Smells yummy! Sweet up front, grainy, cotton candy, dry, spicy finish. Warm bittersweet follow. A good, but not great Tripel.

2/15/06 (bottle): Erupted from the bottle as a light yellow-orange with a lot of activity in th ehead. Bit spicy/yeasty nose. Pleasant drinking ... warm and smooth ... apricot, yeast, tart finish are my impressions. Quite good.
