Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

12 oz Bottle: It smells of bubble gum, sugary/sweet, yeast, etc. The pour is a big tall head that is quickly dissapating. The taste isn’t that great. Its spicy, hoppy, tart taste withsome corriander pretty prevelant. Not very strong, but some apple juice taste with some too fizzy feel.

Pouts gold/orange and slightly hazy with a nice white head. Smells of citrus, coriander, sugar and some sage. Taste is peppery and spritzy with an oily mouthfeel. Some nice hoppy undertones on the finish.

Bottle, thanks to good buddy Joe in Colorado (Why can’t we get NB fine beers here in Chicagoland?). A beautiful beer, golden in color and gently carbonated. Slightly sweet at first, with notes of honey and a soft mouthfeel. Finishes crisp and dry, with the Saaz hops adding just the right amount of spiciness. Don’t even think of drinking this at anything colder than cellar temp. A great effort.

(GABF2005, so kind of hard to judge with only a 1 ounze sampling) Bright, very smooth tasting. Limited spicyness and not very strong.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours a nice golden, slightly hazy color. A fine medium-thin white head. Fruity aroma. Fruity-sweet tasting. Yummy stuff.

Pours a bright golden yellow color. Aromas of hops, fruit, and a little yeast. Has a light lemony taste, with some yeastynotes, and a good hop flavor.

Fruity, sugary, sweet aroma with plenty of leafy, tobacco hop character. Clear golden body is topped by an initially large, fine bubbled white head that recedes to cover with some lacing. Some vegetal tones to the biscuity, grainy flavour that also features leafy hops and a very subdued fruity note that lingers pleasantly in the aftertaste. Pretty strongly hopped for a tripel. Medium body with lively carbonation that is gently prickly on the tongue. Tulip glass. Allowed to warm from fridge temperature. Bottle (BB21-Jul-06, Liquor Mart, Boulder, CO, Oct-05).

A great beer, very similar to a Belgian white beer. Very dry compared to most beers, but very smooth as well. One of my favorites.
