Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

This is a very good beer. Pour is light gold with some carbonation. Aroma is sweet and light. Understated taste. The hops and yeast mix nicely, with mild fruit and malt flavors. Almost like a "Lite" version of other stronger trippels.

In the bottle. I once thought very highly of this until I began drinking good tripels. Pours a golden yellow with a very big pillowy white head. Looks like a tripel. Aroma is yeasty and meaty. Flavor and body are lacking any real defining complexities. Strong alcohol bite at the end with some bitterness, but overall, not anywhere near the beer that their Abbey is.

12 oz bottle. Poured a light copper, rather clear, and with a large fluffy white head. Left heavy lacing all the way to the bottom. Aroma of soft floral hops, sweet caramel malt, and cloves. Flavor is very spicy with hints of cloves and yeast. Rather prominant alcoholic finish for a moderately high alcohol content. Mouthfeel is creamy with soft carbonation. Overall I think that this one just misses the mark a little for a triple, it seems to be missing some of the yeastyness and body that I crave in a triple. Would be a little more drinkable were it not for the finish, as the alcohol really seemed to become exaggerated while it warmed.

Soft somewhat musty aroma though there is some fruity sweetness. Golden body with a small but lively white head. Bannana and pear flavors in the fore. Slightly yeasty through the middle and it is very soft on the palate and rounded with a toned down alcohol presence for its abv.

Crystal clear, pale golden colour, thin white head. Light honeyish aroma, some light spiciness, peach/pear fruitiness. Flavour is quite light and refreshing, apple, pear, peach and the same sweet honeyish notes that I smelled earlier. A touch of bubble gum and a bit of alcoholic as it warms. Light bready sweetness in here as well. Some light spicy notes blend nicely with a touch of yeastiness. Thanks legion242!

Poured a slightly cloudy amber with a large frothy white head producing good lacing. Lots of floaties. The aroma is very sweet and fruity with an overwhelming presence of artificial banana and bubble gum while coffee and apple make timid appearances. Smooth malts reveal themselves in the flavor, notably some toasted caramel that pleasantly flirts with the apples. The finish is dry with a slight alcohol burn and a hoppy bitterness. I would have rated this much higher the first time I tried it, but since then the Chimay and Karmeliet have severly underclassed this brew.
