Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Bottle. This Belgian style trippel pours a cloudy golden color with orange tints and a small, rapidly dissipating, white head. The aroma is very sweet. It has a medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is sweet and citrusy with some yeast and fruitiness. The finish is crisp and mildly sweet with a touch of hoppiness. Very nice ale.

Golden color, clear, lots of bubbles. High, white head that leaves nice lace patterns. . .Some malt, bitterness is noticable, Spicy. . . prickly, spicy with hints of pepper and coriander. Sweetish finish. . . Lt to medium body. Fizzy.... ...Great flavor . The higher alcohol content is hardly noticeable. Lots of carbonation per the style.

Thanks to JL for this one. Nice Belgian yeast aroma. Earthy and yeasty, barn dust and hay. Mild citrus and some bubblegum. Good tripel-typical aroma of herbal, grassy hops and some sweet wheaty-lemon notes, too. Butterscotch amber hazy with fine particulates floating around. Thin lacing white creamy head. Medium-heavy body, good depth of palate. Medium-smooth carbonation with no burn. Starts grassy and spicy with coriander and orange peel. Wheaty with Belgian yeasties and dry hay. Good sweetness of malt with bubblegum powder dryness at the finish. Mild bitter orange blossom hops. Medium dry finish and a little chalky bitterness. Great flavor and a really good tripel.

This is a very good beer. Pour is light gold with some carbonation. Aroma is sweet and light. Understated taste. The hops and yeast mix nicely, with mild fruit and malt flavors. Almost like a "Lite" version of other stronger trippels.

In the bottle. I once thought very highly of this until I began drinking good tripels. Pours a golden yellow with a very big pillowy white head. Looks like a tripel. Aroma is yeasty and meaty. Flavor and body are lacking any real defining complexities. Strong alcohol bite at the end with some bitterness, but overall, not anywhere near the beer that their Abbey is.

12 oz bottle. Poured a light copper, rather clear, and with a large fluffy white head. Left heavy lacing all the way to the bottom. Aroma of soft floral hops, sweet caramel malt, and cloves. Flavor is very spicy with hints of cloves and yeast. Rather prominant alcoholic finish for a moderately high alcohol content. Mouthfeel is creamy with soft carbonation. Overall I think that this one just misses the mark a little for a triple, it seems to be missing some of the yeastyness and body that I crave in a triple. Would be a little more drinkable were it not for the finish, as the alcohol really seemed to become exaggerated while it warmed.
