Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Detected a bread doughy aroma. I guess that would be simular toa moldy floral aroma maybe. Dark golden color with small white head. Somewhat of a sour citrus lime flavor to this beer. Little harsh on the palate but drinkable.

Tasted several times at brewery. Clear golden color and off-white head. Citrusy/banana/clove flavor to go with the slightly floral aroma. One of the better offerings from NBB.

Pours a clear light golden with a medium head that fades to a thin layer. Aroma is mild and of slight grainy malt, floral honey. Flavor is grainy malt, honey, mild citrus, and a slightly floral. Medium body, slightly sticky/oily palate. Decent beer, well crafted but theres not much special about it.

Bottled. Pours a medium golden color. Light yeasty flavor with a hint of alcohol. Flavor is somewhat creamy and malty with a little bit of graininess in there as well. Alcohol is well hidden.

Medium body with semi-high carbonation. Citrus taste with spicy and bitter notes. Very smooth and flowing and drinkable. The medium mouthfeel coats the buds well and the flavor really comes out better as it warms a bit. To me it tastes pretty much like what it is, an American version of a Tripel. But it is good, just a different taste than the true thing.

12 oz. bottle: Cloudy orange in color with a somewhat lasting white pillowy head. Nose was light for the style I thought, with oranges and yeast, slight sourness as well. Flavor was also light I thought, I missed the heavy yeast and sweetness, seemed just a little over watered. Finishes with a citrus sour kick.

7/22/05 Bottle from brad. Pours hazy golden orange w/ small white head. nose is light sour fruit, almost acidic feeling. Taste is bitter with light citrus and astringent feeling to it. Actually has quite a bit of water to it. rerate 12/3/05 Pours a hazy yellow color with a white foamy head. Nose is grassy, citrusy, yeasty, light orange/lime zingy notes. Taste is lots of yeast, dry and lightly chalky, but at the same time shows some signs of citrus fruit juice. numbers reflect rerate.

Draught. Pours gold with orange hints and a rocky white head; excellent film lacing. Sour yeast and leather malt aromas. Sour yeast and leather malt flavor with a citrus hop finish. Light bodied and fizzy dry palate.
