alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 10, 2005 Going to belgium spoiled me for trippels. I know, I’m being snobby, but it just showed that this trippel doesn’t pack the punch that some do. Aroma is slightly floral with some malts there. Taste is also floral and fruity, but somewhat thin. Finish is good and leaves you wanting to take another sip. That’s a good thing! A good beer but could stand to be more daring. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA Jun 2, 2005 Hazy golden color with a snow white head of tiny bubbles. It’s your typical Belgian tripel aroma and flavor, flowery, yeasty, mildly phenolic, touch of alcohol. It might have been typical but it was put together well, it shows nice restraint. Creamy mouthfeel. Tasty! Ray1975 (251), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, USA May 30, 2005 Poured a crystal clear amber color with a medium white heat. Aroma is fruity with belgian yeast. Nice malty flavor with yeast and a light hopping. Medium mouthfeel with good carbonation. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 29, 2005 Thanks to csbosox for sending this. Slightly cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Aroma of yeast and citrus. Good and crisp flavor of yeast, citrus and maybe hops. Light to medium body, creamy texture, moderate carbonation. Very enjoyable tripel. brownaler (379), Topsail Beach, North Carolina, USA May 25, 2005 cinnamon and banana aroma with a golden cloud appearance. Flavor is dominated by mild hops with a slight alcoholic finish. One of the cheaper Trippels I’ve seen. I wish I could buy this more often. notalush (2628), Denver, Colorado, USA May 25, 2005 Cloudy golden pour with minimal head - musty aroma with touches of apples and pears - high carbonation is surprisingly soft on the palate - quite floral, but not what you would consider hoppy - spices, apples, vanilla - medium dry finish - very nice - thanks to Crosling for this one. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA May 21, 2005 12oz - A particular earthy smell with some yeast and sweet fruit. A transparent golden color with a quickly dissapating head and slight lacing. Flavor is sweet and tart. A Belgian yeast with some banana and clove. Palate is slick, smooth, and bubbly. This is a smooth Belgian for drinkin and hides the alcohol well. Great price tag makes it very accessable. tjthresh (1750), Greenfield, Indiana, USA May 13, 2005 Served in my Duvel glass. Best before 22DEC05. Clove, oranges, and some barnyard notes in the nose. Appearance is as expected except for the rapidly deminishing head, and no lacing. Hints of clove, various spices, some citrus fruits and alcohol. Maybe too much alcohol comes through for the tripel that is only 7.8% abv. Med body with some alcohol burn. Not bad at all for the 5.95 price tage.
