Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Poursa deep golden color with a thin white head. Yeast, malt, and fruit aroma. Complex flavors which are fruit, apples, banana, pears, citrus, malt, some hops, yeast, spice and a bit of butter and candy. Very smooth as well. Good overall.

This might just be one of the better tripel’s you’ll find in the US. It’s easy to overlook the contributions that New Belgium does for the beer market (Fat Tire for the masses, La Folie for the geeks) and this tripel is done up right. The beer pours out a copper/orangish color with a nice 1 finger thick head. The head had some creamyness to it and left behind some nice lacing. Aroma is apples, bready yeast, fruity, floral/perfumy hops with an underlying musky sweetness. Flavors are yeast, some sugar, earthy hops, a bit of coriander, and candied oranges. The alcohol creeps up, but is never overpowering (but clearly there). Chalk up another for the fellas at NB!

Bottle pours copper in color with a thin, whispy white head. The aroma has plenty going on, with notes of apple, caramel, banana, and lemongrass. The initial flavor starts off with sweet malt, honey, as well as a yeasty body. It then finishes on a somewhat spicy note, displaying coriander and white pepper with a trace amount of alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium, and my overall impression of this trippel is, unbalanced.

Bottle. Moderate notes of grain and barnyard for the malt and yeast, light not of lemon for the hops, and a faint fruity aroma. Head is huge, rocky like whipped cream, white, with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is sparkling clear yellow/amber, with a few tiny particles on the last pour. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, creamy, and has a lively carbonation. A light, but very good representation of an Abbey Trippel.

Pours clear amber, with a thin white head, good lacing. Aroma of banana, apple, orange and grass. Medium body, mildly dry. More banana and apple flavors, with a hint of spice, slightly metallic, and a mild-bitter citrus finish.

Thanks sebletitje for the share. Pours yellow gold with a white head. Nose is caramel, apple, banana, yeast, pepper, booze, and notes of candy sugar. Flavor is red apple, yeast, pepper, some honey, and sugar. Finishes yeasty, peppery, and very well. Enjoyable tripel.

Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours deep clear gold with off white head. The aroma is apple, pear, prunes and some candi sugar notes. The taste is bubbly apples, pears and apricots. It smooths out into the finish with persistent apple notes as well as pears and apricots. Pretty smooth. Nice brew.
