footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Feb 4, 2005 Brew courtesy of csbosox.Pours a golden honey color with no foam.nose is not as intense as most Belgians but the tell tale yeast strain is obvious..Mild malts and almost a straw aroma comes off this.Soft fruity taste with a musty tone. This is a brew i would like to have as regular in my fridge. Thanks Chris. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 3, 2005 Thanks to fly for this. Pours turbid dark straw, with huge white head. Aroma of malt, hopcit, candi sugar. Tastes very hopcity, malty, with solid candi sugar presence. Smooth palate, and not as "densely funky" as many Belgian tripples I’ve had. I could drink this all night, which would probably get me hammered by 8 PM on most nights. New Belgium Brewing Company is the Belgium of America. Make no mistake about it; this a great beer in any country. TheReptilian (13), Burley, Idaho, USA Jan 31, 2005 This is the absolute best beer that you can get at this price range. One of the beers that I purchase more than any other on value alone. If I cannot afford something pricey, I seem to always go with Trippel, and always end the night very satisfied. Very good price. Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Jan 22, 2005 Smells & looks like apple juice. Gold in color with almost zero head. Spicy & dry to the palate. Has that typical New Belgium metallic taste to it. Pitiful. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 20, 2005 Pour is cloudy orange with a nice fluffy and dense off white head...smell is a little disappointing...straw, yeast, a little cookie dough...not overwhelming...fantastically easy to drink, I think because there wasn’t a whole lot going on....a little watery with a fizzy rather flavorless mouthfeel...sweetness, orange rind, clove, maybe some pepper...sticky sweet finish... RateandPillage (417), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 7, 2005 Pours golden and slightly hazy. Thin white head that disappears quickly. Belgian biscuit aroma. Moderately carbonated, maybe a bit too much. Nice balance, maybe a bit thin on the malt though. Bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall a pretty decent Trippel. Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Dec 24, 2004 picked this one up in san fran.spilled the trippel into a chimay glass.it foamed up a wonderful white head that coated the trappist glass and gave off a yellow swampy head as well.when i brought the glass up to my nose i recieved a gift of straw, belgian yeast, and that signature bisket like aroma that new belgium in known for.i then dipped the glass to get my first sip of this already impressive abbey.i was stunned....i took in a nice blend of hay, belgian yeast, malts, and that lovely new belgium bisket flavor.this could very well be the best trippel i have ever laid my palate on. jtxx (141), san antonio, Texas, USA Dec 21, 2004 very impressive. it’s available at almost every store. Beautiful aroma with a better taste. on sale for $5.99...what a deal.
