COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Very simple malt character, which is overpowered by the coriander. Very flowery notes. Very little too no head and very clear pilsner appearance.

Bottle at home. Pour is clear golden-orange with a big white head and sticky lacing. Big spicy aroma - coriander, white pepper, grassy, slightly herbal, lemony, doughy, and basil. Taste bring a lot of black pepper, musty, Belgian yeasty, herbs, some biscuit malt, citrusy, and grassy with a spicy finish. Full mouthfeel with high carbonation. Easily one of the best American-made Tripels out there.

12 oz bottle poured a clear, light amber with a smallish but long-lasting white head. Aroma - coriander (perhaps too much), clove, toasted grain and yeast. T - flavorful; some fruity sweetness up front, but still more bitter than expected, especially in the finish and aftertaste; plenty of spiciness but still seemed lacking in complexity. M - smooth and somewhat thin (as expected for style); medium carbonation imparts some crispness. O - I tend to have a love/hate reaction to tripel style ales, with a good number being unappealing and a minority (usually Belgian) being well above average. This one is in the middle ground but still not my cup of tea. {revisited and review tweaked in Sept. 2012]

330ml bottle from Saveur-Biere.fr. Pours hazy blonde with big white head. Perhaps a little creamy and fluffy than I imagined. Certainly much sweeter than a Belgian tripel, even coming across more like a wiessbier, with additional vanilla and marshmallows coming through. Ok, but a bit fluffy for me.

Good example of a domestic trippel. Perhaps not as refined but does have some of the civilized qualities. Perhaps a little metallic on the nose. Would be better without the coriander IMHO.

Pours a darker yellow with no head and minimal lacing. Good carbonation. tastes of yeast and coriander/clove. smells of coriander and a sweet malt.

Yeast and coriander on the nose. Fruity flavors and just a little too sweet for "old" belgium. But still awfully tasty. Peach, orange, a bit of peppery spice. I’d rate it a lot higher w/out the coriander.

Draft. Bright golden hue with perfect clarity and a large, fluffy head of pure white. The aroma blends banana, pear drop, pink peppercorns, clove, honey and a hint of vinegar. The flavor has all these, though in more subdued form and with added malt character -- crackers and honey. Body is medium-light; carbonation is moderate and fizzy. Not terribly complex, but passable.

Transparent gold with a negligibly sized white head. Unassuming aroma containing notes of honey, malt, spice, yeast, and caramel. The taste is significantly better. Interesting smooth and light body despite being a tripel. Flavours consist of malt, yeast, caramel, vanilla, and honey with a partially dry hopped and sweet finish. Certainly not a favourite, but a mid ranked tripel.
