COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Fruity (banana) and oatmeal nose. Amber color, lowish head. Banana is prominent in the taste too which I find kind of disturbing in a tripel. That and the light body kind of made me think I was drinking a american wheat (but a tasty one at that). All in all I do not think the style was hit very well here.

2/15/06 (bottle): Erupted from the bottle as a light yellow-orange with a lot of activity in th ehead. Bit spicy/yeasty nose. Pleasant drinking ... warm and smooth ... apricot, yeast, tart finish are my impressions. Quite good.

Fruity, sugary, sweet aroma with plenty of leafy, tobacco hop character. Clear golden body is topped by an initially large, fine bubbled white head that recedes to cover with some lacing. Some vegetal tones to the biscuity, grainy flavour that also features leafy hops and a very subdued fruity note that lingers pleasantly in the aftertaste. Pretty strongly hopped for a tripel. Medium body with lively carbonation that is gently prickly on the tongue. Tulip glass. Allowed to warm from fridge temperature. Bottle (BB21-Jul-06, Liquor Mart, Boulder, CO, Oct-05).

Spicy aroma with some coconut and some light malt. Pours gold with a small head. Fruity and spicy. This one has notes of clove as well. Pretty light. This one could be pretty dangerous at its alcohol content. It finishes somewhat crisp. Probably from the Saaz hops.

350 mL bottle. Clear golden honey color with fizzy white head. Good aroma of banana and other fruits with a hint of yeast. Taste is banana with a hint of citrus and a slightly bready semi-dry finish. The taste doesn’t live up to the promise in the aroma, more or less average overall.

Poured a dark yellow. Aroma was yeasty with some notes of leather. Flavors of some fruit, sugar, and hop spice with a semi dry finish. Light to medium bodied.

12-oz. Pours a crystal clear medium straw-amber with a towering thick rocky, moussy white head. Actually a bit of a geyser, which brings us to the next point, the nose--gimungous candi sugar notes; when this thing hit the counter (and no mistake, plenty of it hit the counter), the whole kitchen smelled like bubblegum. These yeasts are like wild broncos, and brewing and blending these styles is the rodeo of zymurgy. The attack is medium bodied, moderately carbed, and assertively flavored--more sticky candi sugar again. Some herbal hops on the finish but really not much in the way of a flavor palette for this one. I thought, honetly, it would be more interesting than it is, but it tastes like something out of a trappist pop machine...all sugar.

My bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry and biegaman -- courtesy of fordest. Pours a clear gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma starts pretty awful, like dirty shitty diapers -- ugh -- thankfully it gets somewhat better with some sweetness, fruit, yeast, grain and alcohol coming through. Sweet flavour of fruity malt, yeast, spices and some alcohol in the finish. Medium bodied. Like HogTownHarry, my notes concluded with "Meh" which pretty much sums up this beer for me.
