Commercial Description:
Trippel Belgian Style Ale, perhaps the most intriguing of New Belgium's beers, has alluring golden color that only hints at this beer's depth. European Saaz hops and an authentic Belgian yeast strain produce an earthy floral bouquet, citrus bite and woody overtones, all of which are balanced with silky malt flavors.

Bottle, BB 5/23/08. Poured a clear, brilliant bright golden with rising carbonation and a light cap of white head. The aroma picked up deeply-toasted pale malts, light citrus fruit, floral notes, and spices.. dark, but sweet overall with the yeast not leading the way as I’d prefer.. warmth brought around a lightly sour element. The flavor had a tangy, lightly-sour light fruity influence throughout.. pale and light fruity sweetness at the core.. some peppery spices, but more floral notes from the yeast.. peppery notes, fruity sours, and warm pale malt sweetness at the finish. A little heavier-bodied with decent balance on the palate. I didn’t find any great components here, but what was in there came together nicely.

Bottled@Old Chicago Omaha,NE. This beer is very like our Bohemia Confraria here in Brazil. Golden Color with a nice white head. Aroma is Sweet and fruity as well as the flavor, with notes of caramel and spices. Mouthfeel is smooth malt.

Poured from bottle a light golden with a small off-white head that faded quickly. Nose is of yeast, bread, and light spice and bubble gum. Flavor is sweet with bubble gum, a mild spice, yeast, honey and caramel. The palate is mostly sweet followed by a soft mild spice and moderate carbonation. Overall, decent but lacks some in flavor and mouthfeel.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, yeast, and spices - especially cardemomme and a lighter touch of coriander. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, yeast, and spices. Thanks yespr for sharing.

On tap at the brewery. Clear golden color with a nice white head. Smells like medium fruit and spice, sort of cake like in aroma. Tastes of caramel, malt and yeast.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a creamy white head. Dense fruity, light phenolic and mild spiced to yeasty aroma. Spiced and slight rubber flavour initially. Mild yeasty ad caramel malty flavour following. Almost classic yet somewhat too phenolic and rubber like.
