COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeusís daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Absolutely excellent! I could smell the aroma from the pour while I was standing up and away from the glass. What a great combination of flavors with a wonderful hop boquet. Itís a gloden color with a distinct cloudiness and plentiful white head and lace. Once again...excellent.

Ripe fruit, possibly banana, toasted and dark malt. Brown red with plenty of foamy head. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall I found this a good example if the style but too hoppy for my preference.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a snifter. Clear golden with no lacing, medium body, low carbonation, and very little lacing. Taste is fruity malt and some alcohol.

New Belgium Tripel 7.8% A beautiful bright clear gold with a foamy white head. The aroma is vineous, plum, figs, a bit tart but a very nice example of the style. Medium to full mouthfeel with a dry finish. The taste is crackery pale malts and big luscious candied fruits, figs, plums, raisins and while it has some boozy heat it is quite well balanced. I like it, itís a good example of a Belgian Style Trippel, but being in Japan we can get Belgian original versions for less. So if I was in the US Iíd go for this in a heartbeat but being in Japan I think Iíd get an belgian original instead. Really really nice though.

Pours a light golden color. About two finger head. Head is white and thin. Okay retention and okay lacing. Has white sediment floating around in it.

Aroma is banana and coriander. Also tropical fruity.

Taste is banana sand coriander. Also, true to style, tastes sour. Sweet, malty, Smells yeasty, but canít taste it.

Mouthfeel is medium full body. High ABV, canít taste it.

Overall, itís good. I would recommend it for the style. Iím not a fan of the style. But itís good. I donít know why I bought it, but itís decent enough.

12oz bottle - Poured a deep amber with creamy white head. Nice smell of malted grains, bread, and spices. Flavors of spice, raisins, over-ripened fruit, and a woody herb. Alcohol is somewhat detected along with a bitter finish, but itís not overpowering.

Pours a golden yellow with white head. Nose is sweet, banana, cloves. Taste is of classic Belgian yeast, and some sweet banana thatís tempered by slightly bitter hops. Finish is slightly sweet, slighty bitter, and a touch dry. A good American take on the trippel.

12 oz. can. Pours a slightly-hazy medium gold color with 1/4" white head and good lacing. Aroma is very fruity, slightly yeasty, lots of citrus, spices. Full-bodied, taste of malt and citrus, (bubblegum?), cinnamon, sweet and yeasty. Finishes with lingering cinnamon and citrus. Nice, even taste. Will buy again.
