Strong and pleasing esters. Bubble gum, bananas, green apples, and citrus. Nice yeasty complexity. Well-integrated bitter fruit peel and grassy hop finish. A very nice Belgian Trippel. Gained points with me as I gained experience and sampled repeatedly through time. gbzia (195), Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, USA

Also watch for the Grand Cru which is brewed every 1000 batches of NB beer. notalush (2699), Denver, Colorado, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 11, 2003 Nice and yeasty in all aspects. Golden pale body, thin white head, esters all over the nose, spices and cloves as well. Light floral and citrus hop character. Alcohol and an effervescent palate followed by a rather dry, bitter finish with some dried barley notes on the finish. Great smooth malt character. Hell, its a trippel, which meand quality right off the bat, this brew fits the bill. Verne (261), Enumclaw, Washington, USA

A bit tart and a little fruity with just the prefect hop bite at end. This a pleasant effort at a good Belgian beer and for the $6.50 a six pack it cost I will be making this one a habit

I still like this one, but it just seems like it had to have changed. Too sugary, less fruit, and simply not as compex. The last 2 6’ers I’ve bought, while good, are just not worthy of my original rate.
I just love this one. Since I can’t afford the Chimay Tripel on a regular basis, this is a good (and FRESH) sub. Little less sugary than the Chimay; a good thing.
