troopie (517), USA Nov 23, 2006 Appealing gold colour, thin lasting head. Aroma of banana, without being overwhelming. Sweetish flavour without being cloying, with a malty bite. Very soothing and smooth. It seems lower in alcohol than it is.
jhumphries69 (537), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Oct 13, 2008 Draft at Library Alehouse in Santa Monica, CA. Pours deep gold with subtle orange and with an offwhite head. The aroma is grainy and malty-sweet with some caramel toffee and hints of fruity esters. The flavor is malty and grainy with some toast and caramel. Esters are fruity and include noticeable levels of clove and bubblegum. Finish has subtle roasted grain note (unexpected) and soft noble hop bitterness to balance. The mouthfeel is medium-full in body and briskly carbonated. Overall, an unexpectedly mediocre (poor?) tripel. Perhaps this just wasn’t fresh since my experience was definitely below par compared to other ratings... scooter_bub (197), Lander, Wyoming, USA Oct 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy, gold color with a large, clingy, white head that fades some. Taste is of hops, wheat, yeast, fruit, caramel and malt. Some sweetness. The alcohol is hidden well. Aroma is much the same. Easy to drink and is a satisfying beer. For the price this a pretty nice beer, that is well worth visiting.
bbrock81 (193), Le Mars, Iowa, USA Oct 4, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Aroma is of a witbier - sprices and fruit. Flavor is the same, but more so. Very, very fruity. Sweet, yeasty, tasted very much like a cross between a tripel and a wit. Odd, and not what I was expecting at all. Drinkable, but a bit too "unique." lumpsowers (87), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 24, 2008 Wow. Complex, sweet, a wonderful blend of thick malt and floral, cinnamon hops. Beautiful pour with nice head and lacing, slightly weak nose. Very surprised, you’re awesome New Belgium. SSSteve (1572), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 21, 2008 lightly hazy gold with nice lacing under a medium sized foamy white head. sweet yeasty, creamed corn, hops and alcohol in aroma. palate is bright and light bodied. flavors of hops, red apples, and sweet grains with yeast. a little light bodied compared to many belgians but its a solid effort.
