3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA. Light, yellowish-orange pour with a white head. Aroma of funky yeast, bubblegum, light citrus, and a hint of coriander. The flavor is nicely balanced with the citrus taking a backseat and Belgian yeast and bubblegum coming to the front. For a 7.8% beer this one is surprisingly light in body. If you are going to name your brewery New Belgium you should make Belgian-style beers well. Thankfully, this beer is done well.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pale gold color with large white head that dissipates slowly leaving a nice thick lacing. Aroma is weak but is spicy and yeasty. Flavor is better, belgian yeasts, grassy and spicy with light hops. Okay overall, but decent for the price.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Looks good; a transparent orange with foamy off-white head. Smells solid; Belgian yeast and coriander with some light fruitiness. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A decent go at a Trippel for New Belgium. Like all these beers, I feel like the first few sips are the best and I get a full sense of fruit and brightness. The more I sip, the more it tastes like some of the cheaper malt liquors. Overall, something I would buy again.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Drank in Irvine pour from bottle. Golden pour with fairly strong white head. Fell quickly. Sweet, typical Belgian hides 7.8% well.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden amber with a fluffy and lasting white head and moderate carbonation. Aromas of baked apple, stewed pears, vanilla, bubblegum, sweet biscuits and a light herbaceous note. The taste has fresh fruit (pear?) at first before a moderate lemony hop bite. That slides away to more fruit with some banana, white grape, coriander and vanilla coming through. Lightly fruity and herbal aftertaste. Good.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice tripel aroma, but appearance is lacking as the head is below par (for the style). Taste is malt and yeast, but lacking a lot of the floral accents of the Belgian varieties. A nice try, but for a real tripel go to old Belgium.
