WesKBob (147), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jan 12, 2008 Nice golden color and nice head. A wonderful yeasty aroma with a strong floral and fruity (banana?) hints. When I first got it, it was served a little too cold, but the flavors developed nicely as the beer warmed up a bit. The floral and fruity tastes really grab you. You can really taste the alcohol in the aftertaste. As far as American efforts go, this is a very solid effort at mimicking the Belgian trippels.
nbutler11 (161), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 5, 2008 Pours a golden color from the bottle with great lacing and a trim white head. Skunky flour aroma with a refreshing caramel apple flavor. Sweet mouthfeel and suprisingly drinkable. beerdad (45), Kansas, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottled. Pours clearly, the color of straw with minimal white head. Aromas of spice and orange. Flavors include the same with an earthy mineraliness a touch of leather. Finishes with a lingering palate. Overall, decent and i will have it again. swillguzzler99 (10), Glendale, Arizona, USA Aug 28, 2008 Pours amber with the slightest tinge of orange. Moderate head that keeps fizzing with bubbles from bottom of glass. Mild, mild hint of banana/clove of a German hefe. Finishes smooth. Virtually no aftertaste; maybe a hint of sweet. Cannot taste the alcohol for the 7.8%. An excellent brew. durhambeer (411), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 26, 2008 Clear golden pour with orange tint. Bubbly one-finger white head. Slightly perfumy/powdery nose with hints of dirt/earth and stronger hints of yeast and apricots. Sweetness hits hard at first but mellows a bit as one drinks. Surprisingly alcoholic tasting for not even 8%. Disappointing finish. aubreya (670), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 22, 2008 The color was golden. The head was creamy, white, and fizzy. The aroma was pecan, sweet, and powder. The flavor was sweet, tart, alcohol, and belgian yeast. The palate was lively. The finish was warm.
