Commercial Description:
This is our flagship beer. The Atlantic is a medium bodied beer made in the uniquely American, steam styling of brewing. In “brew-guy speak” that means it’s brewed with lager yeasts at ale temperatures. Brewing a slightly sweeter, richer, caramel malt and two varieties of hops in this style makes for a truly unique flavor. Unique enough to make it an award winner at the 1993 Great American Beer Festival. You need this!

A pretty reddish-amber beer. I happen to like big, sweet malt flavors, so I thought this beer was quite good. Smooth in taste and texture. Sweet, not cloying, but almost like cotton candy and caramel plus some roasted notes. Finishes a bit dry, but not all too hoppy.

can at redlight. Very weird funky smell. Incredibly bitter toffee type. Not so good.

Serving: 12 oz. can. Appearance: Hazy orange and brown with a creamy, off-white head. The head was large and had good staying power. Aroma: A little dusty and yeasty with mild hop character. Some bready malt notes. Taste: Reminds me of a saison. Sort of a airy earthiness to it. Lemony, dusty, an odd sour note. There then gone in a second. Malt seems to be nonexistent. Mouthfeel: Medium-low, very smooth carbonation with a light mouthfeel. Short finish. Not quite what I was expecting. Overall: A strange brew. On the can it says it was an award winner in the alt category and that explains a lot of the characteristics. Rebuy: Maybe. Something different to have around.

12 oz can. Amber pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of malt and barnyard. Somewhat stale taste dominated by malt and slightly burned almonds with a sharp finish.

Can. Although this is not what I would consider one of the better beers in this style it is still pretty good and very drinkable. I am going to a 3 day music fest this summer that only allows cans and I think these will do nicely as they are not too over the top in taste or alcohol yet way better than any of the other usual can options from the macros.

Light amber coloured body with a very thin, if that, white head. Aroma of funky malt, strong low a.a. hops and a mild metal scent. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong assertive malts dominate with a bit of sugar and caramel coming afterwards. Aftertaste shows some metal and malt, but a good complexity to finish it out. Overall, not such a horrible beer, but not one of my favourites either. I did like the can, as I always do though! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York.

12 ounce can from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a reddish brown color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel with an herbal nuttiness. Taste is toasted malts, stone fruits, nuts and leafy hops. Some toffee as well. Medium bodied.

Can. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweeter caramel aroma with light hops. The flavor has sweet caramel malt and light bittering hops in the finish. Decent.
