A nice bonus from a trade with jjpm. I sampled this over lunch and enjoyed it for the most part. I don’t have much experience with California Commons but as far as sessionable beers go this is right up there on the list. Don’t be fooled by the "low" rating. If you aren’t in the mood for something complicated give this a try. For style points drink it out of the can.
Aroma / Appearance - The foamy bubbly head filled most of the glass. I had to wait a while for it to settle before I could see the peach colored body underneath. The aroma of fresh fruits (particularly peaches and cream) brightened the air. It was balanced by the scent of green tea limbs and toasted white bread.
Flavor / Palate - Peach jam, white toast and very light hops make this very easy to drink. The cohesive experience is highlighted by the hoppy completion. This would be perfect for a warm summer evening on the patio while you grill steaks.
epf33 (151), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jul 21, 2008 i got a 6 pack of this, it came in cans, and i was wondering, how good could canned beer possibly taste!? it was delicious riversideAK (1468), Shoreline, Washington, USA Jul 18, 2008 Can from jjpm74. Pours a orange amber color with a large head from the big carbonation. Aroma is sweet with caramel, toast, some fruitiness, and a light hop presence. Lightly sweet malty beer with a medium crisp hop back bone. Finishes nicely. Easy drinking. Might have been a little too carbonated for my liking, but not bad in any means. Odyn (130), USA Jun 16, 2008 Great orange-amber color with a slight spiciness on the nose. Very nice creamy taste with very mild hoppiness and a well balanced body. Highly drinkable and gets better with each sip!! mar (522), Dallas, Texas, USA May 13, 2008 can courtesy of jjpm74. deep amber pour with a huge cream head. slight hoppy/spicy scent. thicker than i was expecting with a huge malt flavor that needs to be balanced out by a little hops. SuzyGreenberg (799), Seattle, Washington, USA May 13, 2008 12 oz. can - thanks to jjpm74 for the bonus; hazy amber with huge white head out of the can; malty aromas are soapy and sweet; a little bland, but a simple malty beer full of sweet, nutty flavors; easy drinking and a great little session brew
