jason (1457), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 24, 2008 Can. Poured a monsterous head. Aroma is caramel and spices. Flavor is spices(nutmeg?) caramel and light amount of hoppiness. Thick body for the style with some interesting use of spices.
Odyn (126), USA Jun 16, 2008 Great orange-amber color with a slight spiciness on the nose. Very nice creamy taste with very mild hoppiness and a well balanced body. Highly drinkable and gets better with each sip!! mar (480), Dallas, Texas, USA May 13, 2008 can courtesy of jjpm74. deep amber pour with a huge cream head. slight hoppy/spicy scent. thicker than i was expecting with a huge malt flavor that needs to be balanced out by a little hops. SuzyGreenberg (781), Seattle, Washington, USA May 13, 2008 12 oz. can - thanks to jjpm74 for the bonus; hazy amber with huge white head out of the can; malty aromas are soapy and sweet; a little bland, but a simple malty beer full of sweet, nutty flavors; easy drinking and a great little session brew wavelength (6), USA does not count Apr 29, 2008 Was expecting an Amber, but discovered it is a California Common. Kitchen smells on the nose: carrots boiling in water, apple sauce, even a little pine cleaner. The taste shows me plain grits/cream of wheat and vegetable broth. This beer feels closed up, as if it’s not living up to its potential.
audio pairing: "Tom’s Diner" - Suzanne Vega (originall, non-dance mix) Zinister (812), Houston, Texas, USA Apr 29, 2008 Much thanks to jjpm74 for this can. Pours a reddish amber with very small head. Nose is isopropyl alcohol and bready malts...that’s all I get. Flavor is spiced malts, vegetables, toast and white grapes...interesting mix. Body is nice with good carbonation. Thanks John!
