COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after New Haven’s nickname: the Elm City (but not to be confused with Elm City Connecticut Ale!) It is a true German Pilsner: crisp, refreshing, pronounced. Perfectly balanced pilsner malt made with all German ingredients and Hallertaur hops. It is a perfect compliment to a hot summer’s day! It’s definitely not your grandfather’s beer, but it’s what your grandfather’s beer was trying to be. A must have!!

Pours light golden. Smell is fruity, apply and lightly yeasty. Nice aroma. Taste is fruity, slightly hoppy and some fruity yeast. Overall a smooth, easy drinking pilsner that has a more fruity yeast character than average. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty drinkable and tasty.

A golden body with a thick white head that had some retention and lace. Aroma was of mild bread and grass. Flavor was slightly bitter and lightly sweet. A very subtle corn note to it. A nice crisp beer. Thin body. Carbonation was moderate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can: Pale pear body with a slight chill haze running through; volatile, sticky, chunky bone-white head piles up high & leaves some fat lacing webs behind. Aroma of light grain, freshly baked sweetbread, barley, a mild citrus spritz, & just a touch of spicy & earthy Noble hoppage. Sharp yeast in the flavor up front, perhaps some mild metallic notes that thankfully disperse with time. Moderate DMS with a mid-palate strike of zesty, earthy, & spicy Noble hops that give a mild bite to the tongue & leave a suitable, lasting bitterness that carries into the finish. Aftertaste, gentle mouth coating with faint citrus zest & baked bread. A nice & easy going pilsner, something you can crush in the summer.

Hazy golden body, thin white head, spotty lacing. Grass, light lemon zest, grainy cereals, some dry yeasty contribution. Medium to light bodied, moderate carbonation, lingering, slightly chalky finish.

From a can. Pours clear very light gold with a frothy white head. Tastes bitter, dry, like pine, bread and muskiness. Low/medium body and medium carbonation. Smells musky with hints of grapefruit.

Trader Joe’s, Darien sixer: Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is light grassy hops, some lemon, pilsner malts. Taste is quite hoppy for a pilsner, so it is nice and bitter. Crisp, refreshing, and easy to drink.

Canned or bottled? Cloudy pastel gold, fine low head. Malty pilsner nose, citrus hops. A bit of DMS corn. Flavor of citrus, cabbage, nise hops but too much veggie DMS. OK.

355mL can thanks to Travlr. Very fresh I think. Clear bright straw. Massive white foam. Huge retention and sheets of lacing. Nose is fresh lemon, fresh noble hops, honeydew, crackery wheat, fresh biscuit. Taste is clean, quenching, long grassy soapiness. Long bitter aftertaste with sourdough cracker. Hints of metallic twang are off putting. But well crafted.
