This poured a unique melon color orange with a thick head of soft white cottony foam that fell in rings and patches and finally left a thin layer on top. This had large white floaties in it and some sediment that detracted from the appearance. In a certain light it appears to have a muddied color brown in it but against the natural outdoor light it is pastel orange with light hues. This one is murky.
Nose is sensational with a wild tropical fruit character. Melon, mango, candied citrus peel and orange. Pine and dank grasses. Herbal hops and a powerful floral that was not perfumey or heavy. Hardly any malt on the nose until it warms and then some light caramel sugar.
Taste is a ride for the palate that you wonít soon forget. It starts with more bread than you ever thought was in there. Itís light and sweet. Then there is an all over mineral softness to the body of the beer that presents the fruits as a whole and liek a juicy succulent punch. Grapefruit, candied fruit peel and orange with some tropical notes in the background. A nice spice comes to the middle and a sharp bitter. This finishes dry and with a little bit of herbal and spice in the aftertaste. Itís a famous bitter in this one. And the dank herbs fill the nose as you draw the glass down.
What a delightful beer. It drinks fluidly with a body that is so light . I could have four more of these. Non stop taste.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2013 Pours hazy golden with generous lasting head, and thick lace, but also rising bubbles noticeable. Aroma of hops and plastic. Taste of bandaid, which is an off-taste followed by strong hops. Tingling carbonation. . Fresh can from Premier Gourmet. Very drinkable but that plastic residual stays on the palate throughout.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can from Reynolds, Thanks ! Pours a hazy orange golden color with two plus fingers of sticky off white foam. The nose is grassy, bitter and has a good dose of citrusy grapefruit and round sweet malts. The palate is hop forward on follows the nose nicely with a huge bitterness that comes in mid palate and crushes the finish with grassy citrus pith bitterness that lingers and dries out the sweetness.

A: Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Lots of Light, White Head Ring, Minimal Lacing
S: Orange Peels, Piney, Earthy
T: Orange Peels, Piney, Grapefruit, Grainy
M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Bitter, Grainy
Overall, I wasnt impressed when I had a sample of this but after getting it from a chilled can, it definitely is much better. There is more of a grainy flavor to this beer than most DIPAs and is a nice change.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The beer pours a pale orange color with notes of amber. The beer forms a big, beautiful head of creamy white bubbles that last at about a fingerís width above the glass. In body, the beer is clean of particles, but very hazy and nearly opaque. On the nose, this beer is big and beautiful. Pine needles, pinecones and sweet mango juice mingle with dank and spicy weed, grapefruit rind, and soft alcohol notes. From the can, the nose is just about the same with just a touch more roundness coming from the citric scents and less of the alcohol burning the nostrils. On the tongue, the beer tastes hugely and properly bitter with resinous pine sap sticking to the tongue. Sweet hops, alcohol, and light bread malt mingle with citric acidity to make up the side show. The finish is dry with only slight sticky sweetness lingering. On the tongue, the beer is medium bodied, with fluffy carbonation that gives velvet softness to the mouthfeel. The mouth is left sticky with resin and bitter tingling, the palate is wrecked. From the can, the beer feels slightly crisper. In flavor, the beer tastes of resinous pine, sweet mango, light pineapple, grapefruit, and apricot. Distinct fresh hop flavors bubble on the tongue and feel sticky and very resinous. The taste has a strong backbone of medicinal bitters. Mmm. A bit sickly sweet, but not too much so. The cloying alcohol seems most present in the finish which also features dry cracker malts at the very base of my senses and strong piney hops. Overall, this is a damn good double IPA. It would be excellent on a late summer afternoon. Great bitters, great hop character, and a great effect on the tongue. The alcohol is just a tad too much, but other than that I like this beer a lot.

From 12oz can.
Pours cloudy amber with a boatload of head (may be result of just rolling around in car). Hoppy aroma with plenty of citrus. Pleasant mature hoppy taste. No bite like Dirt Wolf - but a nice contrary approach to hoppiness.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a cloudy bright orange with a small white head and tons of lacing down the glass. Lots of particles in this one. Not sure if itís normal or if this one is a bit older since there is no can dating.
Typical IPA smell. Loads of grapefruit citrus and pine waft up from the glass but with a slightly stronger caramel presence than some west coast style IPAís.
The hops arenít quite as prevalent in the flavor as the nose. It starts out with a good caramel malt sweetness and finishes with a strong piney hop character with a little bit of citrus shining through as well.
Mouthfeel is fairly thick and creamy with good carbonation levels.
Overall not the best DIPA Iíve had, but one that I enjoyed and have been wanting to try for a while. Will definitely seek this out again especially as it comes in a can!
