3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to Exiled for sharing this beer. Sampled Feb, 16, 2010.
The beer pours dark brown to black with a decent-sized brown head. The aroma is roasted malt along with coffee and chocolate. The flavor is more of the same with chocolate standing out more than the coffee or malts. Creamy mouthfeel, which is the best part of the beer. Low carbonation. Not sure what I was expecting, but I was a little disappointed. A very good beer, but I expected a little more.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Nose and glasses shared by Jeff. Aroma is deep roast coffee and chocolatey malt. Pours black with a small brown head that quickly fades into a white wispy film. Taste is dark and roasty with notes of roast coffee, super dark chocolate, and a sweet woody finish. If you had told me this was aged in oak, I might believe you. This is a near to perfect Russian Imperial Stout. Great full mouthfeel without being Marshal Zhukov sticky. Great roast without tasting like a rauch. I can’t rave about this stout enough. I wish I had a case.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from a trade long ago in a galaxy right here. Aroma and flavor are great. Way too much carbonation though. A little better after it settles down. Still, good beer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a deep black color with a big three finger gaseous khaki foam. The nose has tons of dark fruit, plum and heavy chocolate roast. The palate follows with a touch too much vinous fruit for my liking in an imperial stout. Lots of dark brunt chocolate roast helps balance the beer but just a good beer in my opinion not a great beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
(bottle - 500 ml) Black pour with a creamy looking tan head. Big and complex aroma. Coffee, toffee, caramel and some vanilla underneath. Lots of coffee and roasted malt at the start of the flavor with a creamy sweetness in the middle that gives way to a big roasted and almost smoky finish. A bit too thin for how big the aroma and flavor is, but beyond that it’s fantastic.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. It pours a nearly ink black that lets just a chink of light in at the bottom of the glass, and has a good light tan head. Aroma has notes of molasses and roast coffee. Smoky flavor has caramel, licorice and coffee notes. Firm, smooth texture is quite lively. Hides the ABV well.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
From the September 2013 3R6P tasting. The 2011 edition +++ Sampled from a large brown bottle this beer poured thick and black with a small soapy brown head that faded quickly and left only a hint of lacing. The aroma was sweet molasses, anise, vanilla, port wine and a hint of coconut. The flavor was toasty malts, coconut, vanilla, chocolate syrup, faint port wine and anise. Long finish of anise, vanilla, chocolate and coconut.. Full, thick and smooth body. Excellent.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from the bottle. Color is pitch black with a nice tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate and roasted malts. Mouthfeel is thin an creamy. Flavor is all chocolate, roasted malts, with just a hint of coffee. Very nice. Overall, would like it to be more full-bodied, but flavor and aroma is great.
