Nice, thick lacing. Aroma is spice, malt, and herbal hops. Flavor is malt and hops balanced well. Bitterness seems to linger. Medium body. A decent IPA. Thanks Matt. Seems a bit trashy, but I like the concept - pretty unique. fluffy tan head, carmel colored body, smell is strong (pine and citrus), dry mouth with orange peel taste, bitter finish that stings and lingers... pretty strong tasting ipa. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Can? Humm, clear brew looks like a copper penny with whipped cream foam atop subsiding to some heavy random lacing. Deep, bitter, piney, citrus aroma. Foreboding. A bit thin but a deep dark bitter sure to put hair on your ass. Slight alcohol burn in the belly and a bit metallic dry, malty bitter finish. desurfer (1067), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 22, 2007 Canned. Slightly cloudy copper with a big, pillowy beige head. Aroma is somewhat stale with some sweet maltiness and little hops. The maltiness in the flavor is almost too sweet and very bready. Hops are there with a moderate citrus character. Finish is dry and sticky sweet. Pretty good. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2007 Hazy medium/amber coloured ale showing a fading white head. Its nose shows more yeastiness than I expect from an American IPA, actually a bit phenolic even. Underneath though, it’s a well displayed caramel maltiness with pleasant biscuity perfumes. Floral, earthy and never aggressive hops. Gentle, soft and rounded flavour profile. Most people I assume would not think much of it, but I appreciate its juicy freshness a fair bit while its mineral character fights off the inherent sweetness naturally. It smells malty with earthiness, spice and pine hops. The taste begins with a thin mouth feel that ushers in an even combination of roasty malts and some pine hops, grapefruit hops and dirty earthiness. The mixture of hop bitterness grows into the finish squashing down the malts. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2007 Thanks to McBackus and Redlight. Copper pour, big white head. Aroma is sweet caramel. Taste is lots of citrus hops, grapefruit peel and hints of pine and a big resiny aftertatse. Caramel malts are very big in this beer and there is also a touch of biscuit. Thick mouthfeel, chewy and lots of carbonation. Pretty good IPA. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 13, 2007 12oz can. Dark amber/caramel pour with a huge, sudsy off white head. Tons of sheet lacing coating the sides of the glass. Nose of floral and citrus hops, sweet malts, . Fore is soapy hops, floral notes, pine resin, sweet malt and a metallic twang. Medium bodied, light astringency. Finish is medium length, soapy and bitter pine. A bit too much malt and metallic for my liking.
