| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Wow, now this beer pours with authority! Nice amber, candy colored body with frothy tan head that just sticks around. Aroma is quite pleasant, lots of fresh hops and sweetness-perfect for a hot summer day. Palate is a little thinner than I had surmised by the appearance and aroma, and quite biting. Taste is a little metallic, but nothing terrible. Overall a decent IPa...in a can. jgb9348 (2495), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Nice copper coloured body with a nice tan head that fades real quick. Aroma of citrus, pine and fresh hops. Light to Medium-bodied; Spicey hoppy flavour with a good malt backbone and some spices throughout the the taste. Aftertaste shows more hops and a pleasant sweetness. Overall, a pretty good IPA made even better by drinking it out of a can! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 28-July-2007 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. mgumby10 (1850), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Pours a cloudy, bubbly, burnt orange with a medium, well retained light tan head. Very mild aroma, barely any hops, with some malt showing up in the background. Something funky about the smell though. Wierd. Lets see if the taste is an improvement. It is. The hops finally come alive in the flavor. Some grapefruit from the hops is there with some citrus and some light maltiness. Decently balanced, although it was nothing special. Solid in the flavor, although the nose needs work. jerc (3888), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Updated: Aug 23, 2007August 2007. Can. Slightly murky amber brown body, good sized beige head tries and almost succeeds in leaving some decent lacing on the glass. Moderately piney resin aroma has a bit of a pine cleanser note to it at times but is still nice. Flavour has a muddy caramel malt with a decent amount of bitterness with piney resiny hops, very very light citrus. Average palate. Decent but there is just something about it that fails to press the right buttons for me. 7/3/6/3/13 - 3.2
<P>Can at Coles IPA Festival. Copper body with a small off white head. Muted resiny hops in the aroma and flavour. Muddled notes of illegible along with caramel and moderate citrus and resin. Average palate. Pleasant enough flavours, just not enough of them. Seems inconsistent with the high ratings here... 6/3/6/3/11 - 2.9 swoopjones (1897), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2007 Can graciously given to me by beastiefan2k (thanks Eugene). Poured out a dark amber color with solid amount of off-white head. Before I put my nose to the glass, I smelled fruitiness right away. Pretty interesting start. Upon closer smell I caught the faint aroma of piney hops, though I wish it had been a little more assertive. The taste starts off pretty malty and takes a bit of teasing in order to draw out the hoppiness I was looking for. The finish provided a little more of that bitterness and lingered well. Average mouthfeel. Overall, I agree with the latter sentiment on the can; this beer is definitely a good "gateway" beer, though I’m not so sure about the former claim. I’m on the fence about these malt-forward IPAs and at the moment it’s not my bag.
