Hoppy aroma with a nice malt presence. Flavor is sweet, lots of hops creating a sort of spiciness, sweet malty backbone. Full bodied. Nice IPA. Odeed (1673), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Slightly disappointed. Poured amber with creamy off white head. Aroma of piney hops. Taste wasn’t that big on hops and finished kind of malty, almost sweet. Very different from the IPA’s I’ve been drinking. islay (475), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2007 12 oz. can. Yeasty, soapy, appetizing aroma features dirt-like (I do not necessarily mean that pejoratively), bitter, English-style hops with just a touch of Cascade citrusness. Lightly toasted carmel malt scents. Pours a clear amber with a large amount of thick, gold-tinted, light-tan head. Produces sporadic lacing. There is a metallic hint in the taste. I hope it does not derive from the can, because I believe that cans are superior to bottles as a means to storing beer and should be the future of the craft beer industry’s small-quantity storage methodology. Bitter, English-like hops flavor and carmel malts, consistent with the aroma. I am unable to pull a lot of specific flavors, although I did perceive some pepper. The flavor is nothing special, but it is satisfying. Long but light bitter aftertaste. Medium body. Undercarbonated. Soft in the mouth but harsh in the throat. New England Sea Hag IPA could be considered a hoppier-than-usual amber ale rather than an India pale ale. Its taste is distinctive but not overwhelming. I respect the subtle quality, but it does not stand out enough to earn a rave, especially in the highly competitive IPA style. The subpar palate sensations mar what could easily be a stronger brew. illinismitty (1795), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Can from Ty5592. Mega thanks to Ty for handing this off as a surprise. Pours a translucent copper with a fading off white head. Balanced aroma of malts and cascade hops. Medium light mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Initial flavor of caramel and tea balanced by a non- aggressive fruity and spicy bitterness. More fruitiness comes forward on the bitter finish, along with some mineral traits. This is sort of like a british and east coast hybrid. Nice malt backbone and subtle hop profile. Thanks again Ty, I enjoyed this. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Aquired from bu11zeye in a trade. Pours a darkish amber with a medium off white head that slowly fades. Aroma is a solid balance of piney hops, malts, light grapefruit. Seems to have a little more malt than hops in the flavor but in the finish there is a decent bitter hop taste. Overall a very nice canned IPA. Thanks again Markus. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2007 Rather juniper-ey, almost gin-like hops aroma. Flavor has a very interesting red-fruit characteristic. A bit thin on the palate, but not bad. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2007 12oz can via trade with beastiefan2k - Thanks Eugene! - Pours dark amber with a fair offwhite head that stays well and laces the sided of the tulip I poured it into. Aromas of light pine, a little toffee, and some grapefruit. Flavor is caramel, toffee, pine and slight grapefruit. Pretty well balanced overall. Good malt backbone. Probably one of the better East Coast IPAs I’ve tried..
