Commercial Description:
This one's a beauty; a rich and full bodied India Pale Ale with complex malt character blended with cascade and noble hops. The end result is a beer that satisfies the "hop head" out there and won't chase away the newcomer. Drink it. It's good.

Bottle: Dark caramel in color, fairly hazy/cloudy, moderate off-white frothy head, spotty lacing.   Hoppy nose, somewhat earthy, a little raw and biscuity.   Much the same on the tongue.   Not the big citrusy/piney bitterness you would expect, but instead a somewhat astringent malt bitterness (if that makes sense).   The hop factor seems green, almost too premature.   This one is underdeveloped.   To me, comes across as a maltier Pale Ale.   Some citrus rind bitterness, but the astringent malt backing seems stronger.   Body and mouthfeel are fairly moderate.   Finish seems a little gritty, raw, and like premature stale hops.   Tiz okay, but I think this one is either over-rated, tastes of "sea hag", or I sat on it too long.   Thanks Paul for the brewskie, and the kick-ass label!   I may need to revisit this one.

Really good stuff here. The 2nd IPA i have ever tried from a can..the first being Furious, which i actually drank right before this one. Nice amber color, good hop flavor for sure, plenty of bite. Very good stuff all around, cans or not, this is one of the best IPA’s i have tasted.

Can (from Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg); poured a large head. Aroma of caramel/toffee malt, slightly roasted, with a hint of pine and citrus hops. A hint of metallic. Flavor is alot like the aroma; much more caramel malt, than hop presence. End result is tasty drinking bear, but lacking a large hop presence. Some sweetness. Best canned beer; but have an Oskar Blues due up...

Part of the fun of drinking craft beer is getting really psyched about new discoveries: drinking big stouts out of my duvel tulip, wearing my new Surly hoodie, bringing home growler after growler of Masala Mama. Right now I am totally into drinking pale ales out of a can. Dales Pale, Surly Furious and now New England Sea Hag. The can allows for a bigger and more open mouthful than a bottle. All that resiny hop and sweet malt just slide down your throat. The Sea Hag is totally my kind of IPA- sweet melony malt and soft fragrant hops. And its all from Woodbridge, Woodbridge Connec-ticut home of Michael and Carol Kligfeld, daughter Jenn and their son Adam- the dog tanya buried in the backyard (choked on a carrot z"l).

Clear, bronze-to-crimson appearance, with a firm, frothy, creamy top, quite attractive. Aroma: caramel malt, hops, crisp, appley, fruity, definitely more of an English IPA bent to it...there’s Cascade hops, but also "Noble" ones, so there’s a bit of both going on...interesting. Taste: snappy! Malty, but plenty bitter and hoppy, then ending dry off of the tongue. Nice play on the tongue here, good texture, medium-to-full bodied, with a classic fruity-to-dry finish. Tasty stuff! Again, an intriquing blend of American and English hops makes for a fascinating amalgam in this Sea Hag IPA. Only one question remains in my mind...would Popeye like it?

Ya can’t get theya from heeya! But you can get an IPA---in a can! Wow. This is one of the better canned beers I’ve ever had. Of course, that’s like saying you thought you had an alcohol problem until you married into the Kennedy’s. The color is a beautiful amber with a nice, thick head. There is neither anything spectacular about this brew, nor anything offensive. This is a good, run-of-the-mill medium-hopped IPA. Nice on a hot day. The can brought back memories, or, at least the idea of memories I should have had, if not for the mass quantities of alcohol consumed while making said memories.

Dark amberish, resin colored pour. Biscuit aroma with caramel, disinfectant and a hint of chocolate mint. Mildly hoppy flavor of orange rind intermingled with thick and sweet toffee malts. Touch of diacetyl. Rich juicy palate, sharp like pineapple, with a metaliic edge. Slighty rough.
