BeerGestapo (725), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 16, 2009 Brewed in the USA....... Courtesy of AFI96, thanks waylo !!! Pours a orange / amber color with a medium white head. Aroma of nuts, malts and some citrus notes. Taste was kind of malty with some hops and caramel. Mouthfeel was sticky and sweet, but pretty drinkable. I wanted to give a can to the sea hag that lives in the Capt’s basement.. lol. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Apr 3, 2009 Can. Love the name, liked the beer ok. Pours an amber color. Aroma has a good dose of hops but the flavor is too malty and too sweet. Does finish with an ok bite of hops. beerfest5 (128), Simsbury, Connecticut, USA Mar 24, 2009 This one is the sneaky good IPA, by that i mean, it comes in a can, the graphics look like one of those energy drinks, so i wasnt expecting too much. but the flavor is great, sort of middle of the road IPA, not too hoppy, malty, piney, citrusy. a surprising well done IPA NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Mar 19, 2009 [march 16, 2009]
Can. I have never heard of this beer before and only picked it up because it came in a cool looking can. My expectations were rather low for this one, but I was quickly delighted when I cracked that tab. As soon as the seal was broken I could smell awesome hops before I even poured it into a glass. After pouring, very bright grapefruit notes, dank weed, light ammonia, and a pine tree are noted in the aroma. The palate is slick with a lingering stickiness. Though the flavor is certainly hop heavy with suggestions of grapefruit and oranges, it is never overly bitter, just very herbal and citrusy. Finish is dry. What a great surprise! hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Mar 18, 2009 Can from Total Wine & More (Fort Myers, FL). Medium ivory head with poor retention, minimal amount of carbonation, fair amount of lacing, transparent, and an orange brown hue. The aroma was very malty, caramel, citrus, and some hops. The flavor was mildly hoppy, malty, caramel, and had a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel was slightly tingly and this is a medium IPA. This was an easy to drink IPA, has a definite malt presence and at times the maltiness took over the presence of hops. That being said, this beer is worthy of a try. j12601 (1151), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Feb 24, 2009 Can. Pours an almost clear orange amber with a large foamy white head large enough that I had to pour in three stages to get the thing to fit the pint glass. Particulate matter in suspension. Sticky citrus hops, slight burnt/toasted malt, and some other earthy smells. Body is medium and lightly sweet. Finishes with a good bitter, but slightly bland, without much definition. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 24, 2009 Hazy amber. The aroma is chewy with caramel malts followed by spicy hop. Lots of spicy hop on the palate, and a huge stack of stale, chewy malts. I like the noble hop idea, but the malts are terrible. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Feb 23, 2009 decaturstevo’s Febmergency Tasting. Sample from a can thanks to SpringsLicker. Hazy orange with a quick white head. Malty sweet aroma, light florals and citrus hops. Taste is spicy malty, with only light hops.
