Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 21, 2009 Had at Coasters in Melbourne. No can tainted taste. Fine, cascade and noble hops. Medium gold, with ome clinging lace and a soapy head.Average and decent IPA. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Feb 21, 2009 Can. Dark caramel-colored with some haze and little head. Very caramelly aroma. Also creamy maple and maple butter. Smells sweet. Has a highly carbonated, gassy mouthfeel. Has some bitterness in the finish but otherwise is a caramelly mess. Thin with the caramel-maple sweetness under the earthy hops. Has some vanilla and even sasparilla notes as well. I did not like this. csbosox (1076), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Feb 15, 2009 12oz can, brought back from Florida. Distinct nose of light caramel, very sweet and alluring along with some pine and light citrus. Reddish orange color with a nice off-white head. Flavor is lots of caramel & toffee along with some pine, floral, and citrusy hops. Moderate bitterness, enough to balance it properly. Nice fruity finish. A nice enough drinker and a good traveler, this one rode in the cargo section of an airplane loose in my dive bag. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA Feb 15, 2009 This was quite a tasty ipa out of the can. It didnt have mind blowing hop aroma but it had a solid hop depth to it. I liked it, it held its own and much like jessica simpson had a larger body than i was though to believe. solid. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Feb 9, 2009 Can by Springslicker. Hazy orange with a creamy white head and lace. Light hops and medium malt. Really sweet maltiness with a medium bitter finish. Light/medium bodied with decent carbonation. A good offering from a can. Butters (1623), Virginia, USA Feb 7, 2009 Bottle at decaturstevo’s Februmergency Tasting for those of us that missed out on Sexual Chocolate ’09 thanks to springslicker. Hazy orange amber pour with decent white head. Antiseptic nose, and some light fruity hop. Flavor of weak hops, and some bitterness. Props for canning and a good name, but the beer just doesn’t stand up. More like a pale ale than an IPA. blindeyedbetty (148), Arlington, Virginia, USA Feb 2, 2009 12 oz. can. Pours a hazy medium amber with creamy beige head. Not overly carbonated, medium weight mouthfeel, but heavier than many IPA’s. Manuf. described as a ’full-bodied ale’ which is accurate enough. Floral aroma with underlying citrus. Front palate is malty with an oaky middle and sharp hoppy finish. Aftertaste of mild spice. Weighty enough to stand up to a hearty chicken or light beef dish. Chicken cordon bleu or another dish with cream or an oaky cheese could be accompanied nicely with this beer. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Feb 1, 2009 Can courtesy of Solan. Pale citrus aroma. Deep red body with creamy off white head. Citrus flavor in the middle of beer but the thicker malt presence made this ipa little heavy rather than cool and crisp. Good brew thought of it as blend of an APA and IPA mix.
