Very nice unfiltered, particle-y (not with protein clumps) deep red with a dense, creamy off-white head. Toasted malts, bread and only little floral hop character in the nose. Flavor starts off with a heavy caramel/bready malt presence then gives way to light pine, floral citrusy hops. Full, round and creamy on the palate with mild carbonation. This seems more like a hop-oriented Amber Ale to me. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 10, 2008 Pours copper with a thich tan head. Mild fruity hop aroma, malts apparent. Hops are somewhat light on the taste for an IPA. What’s there has a mild earthiness. The finish has the malts encroaching on the hops. Decent, but there’s a lot better for the same price. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 10, 2007 Pour is amber with a big creamy head of large and small bubbles. Nice lacing. Aroma is sweet and hoppy. As the description says, the hoppiness isn’t enough to chase off the newcomer, but enough to satisfy the craving of the hop head. Flavor is rich with caramel malts and a nice cleansing bitterness. This is an all-around very drinkable and enjoyable beer. RCL (1499), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2007 Rather juniper-ey, almost gin-like hops aroma. Flavor has a very interesting red-fruit characteristic. A bit thin on the palate, but not bad. dchmela (1476), Orlando, Florida, USA

Hoppy earthy aroma, very aromatic, with a hint of malt. Taste is malty with a tinge of spicy hops. Citrus and pine also start popping out. Finishes very clean, no lingering bitterness. holdenn (1456), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 9, 2007 12 oz can thanks to Ty5592. I like IPAs out of the can this one might be a little old though. Sweet malts in the nose some citrus and hop. Light bodied and the flavor reflects the nose. Some hints of bitterness citrussy sweet. Decent beer. OldGrowth (1434), North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 6, 2006 Can, from Julio’s. Good nose, sweet. Canned ice tea, nutty, mealy. Kind of hop devilish. Clean brownish orange color. Nice head & lacing. Bitter flavor, like aroma. Nutty, citrusy, mealy. Medium body, creamy viscous mouthfeel, bitter finish. Tasty brew. Like I said has a hop devil characteristic about it. SoLan (1432), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 15, 2007 Clear amber. Small, spongey, tan head. Mild aroma of resinous hops and caramel cookie malt. More impact in the flavor- resin, pine, grapefruit, earth, lightly sweet caramel cookies. Dra and grassy on the finish. Medium/full body, balanced carbonation, a bit weighty for an IPA, although the can could be toying with my perception. Decent IPA.
