Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Poured a hazy red with a light pink head. The nose was of cherries and that’s about it. No yeast, no malt, no beer. Just cherry. The taste started with... you guessed it, Cherry! Sweet at the start, dry and tart at the finish. Despite it’s murkiness it really has a delicate feel on the tongue. Almost like sparkling wine. It does have a definite malt presence, but doesn’t have the sticky cloyingness that an American wheat beers have. It’s drinkablity depends on your tollerance for cherries. For me a 750 ml bottle treats me just fine.

Bottle courtesy of HogTownHarry. Ruby red color with huge cherry aroma. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Huge cherry taste, almost doesnt feel like beer. Great fruit beer

Bottle trade from shigadeyo. Poured hazy reddish brown color an average fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Heavy dark cherry fruit aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Solid complex dark fruity flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Standout drinkable fruit beer.

Whoa. Way surprised here. I am NOT a fan of fruit in my beer at all. Lienies has mad me hate fruit...Summer Shandy..case in point. Had this at the brewery. THis is unlike any fruit beer i have ever had. The real door cty cherries make the differnce im guessing. You wouldnt be able to drink to much of this, as it would be overpowering, but a nice flute of it would hit the spot at times. I still feel just a little gay when drinkin it though?

After years of passing on this beer, for some reason I picked up a bomber and shared it with family. The Belgian Red quickly became a weekend guilty pleasure. The amazing cherry flavor is big and vibrant, but not cloyingly sweet. Hugely refreshing and drinkable.

bottle courtesy of boboski again: pours a glorius bright cherry red colour with no head. aroma is the sweetest of the freshest cheeries. i am sure this was something else i got, but the cherries were so fantastic that is all i am mentioning. flavour is outstanding of fresh cherries with a nice zest to it. again the cherries dominat, but that is just fine with me.

I have been giddily awaiting the chance to taste and rate this beer, it has been many years since I first fell for this beauty. When poured, the color is an enchanting ruby brow. Aroma brings me to Summer, with the smells of fresh cherry pies wafting carelessly through the air, drawing me in deeper in. Cherries are definitely the star here, but seem to share the stage with a slight vanilla aroma, amazing. I could smell this beer all night. The flavor is glorious, tart cherries and a touch of sourness run rampant. This beer is better than I ever remember it being.

Deep ruby color - light & thin head. Strong aroma of cherry, raspberry, and very tart. Flavor is boldly sweet, bordering on cloying - strong fruit presence, slightly syrupy and tart without being puckering. Well done, but probably not something I could drink a lot of at one sitting.
