Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Brown-red, coppery colored, strongly cloudy appearance. Little light brown head. Sour aroma with dominating rasberries and sweetness, even some toffee and cherries there. Near full bodied. Flavor is richer with strong sweetness, raspberries and some other berries. Aftertaste is sour with also this raspberry touch. Too sweet, under my high expectations, still nice different beer.

Bottled (thanks heemer77). Hazy reddish orange colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is lots of cherrykernels. Flavour is very nice of cherrykernels as well as some quite sour notes. Yet at the same time very wellbalanced and refreshing thing.

Pours dark amber with a mild, fluffy head. Aroma of cherries and spice. Perfect mouth feel with a strong, spicy, cherry flavor. The carbonation really sets off the whole thing making this a wonderful beer!

All I got was a small samle of this because the bottle was knocked off the table and spilled. What little I had was great, but I reserve the right to re-rate when I get another.

I just bought another case of this. I can’t think of another beer I buy by the case. I could drink one of these every day for the rest of my life and never tire of it. It’s not my favorite, but it always brightens my day and never ceases to amaze. The pour is very hazy, luminous reds and browns swirling around each other. A small off-white head with pink tinted splotches forms and dissipates quickly. The glow of such a deep, murky color scheme is astounding. The aroma is very sweet and very peircing. Notes of fresh cherries, pie crust, light spices and not a hint of alcohol. Anything in the aroma that is not a scent directly related to fresh cherries probably comprises less than five percent of the total. This is also the absolute, definitive benchmark example of fruit extraction into aroma without creating even a hint of a medicinal character...it just smells like ripe fruit, freshly picked. The flavor is also highly sweet, with small intermittent hints of acidity. No medicinal qualities found here either, even though it is incredibly sweet and has no noticeable backing bitterness. Tartness is moderate and steady throughout. The finish is sublime; very sweet, cherry pie notes lingering on until the next sip, or a sip of something else comes along. The mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, which in this case is welcome as it helps to further accentuate the lovely fruit composite. Medium to medium-heavy in body, very smooth and rigid in its structure. Truly breathtaking.

Hazy murky red color, small off-white head. Intensive fresh cherry aroma. Lactose and sweet cherry in the flavor. Sweet, sugary, good be more sour. Some peppery notes in the aftertaste. I was expecting more and therefore I am wondering how this is in Top50.

RBSG07. Pours red. Aroma is red with a light brown head. Aroma is cherry fruity. Flavour is sweet and sour fruity at once. Very nice finish of sweet- and bitterness. Candy!
