Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Pours muddy brown in color with hints of red and orange. Very murky and opaque. Mmm, smells like a freshly baked cherry pie. Damn, I can almost smell the crust too. Sweet cherry jam and lemon/green apple tartness aromas in there too. Taste is like a sweet cherry-apple cider with a tart finish. Effervescent-tingling on the tongue, carbonated like a sparkling wine. High points for uniqueness and although I couldn’t drink many of these back to back for the fruitiness, this beer is quite the experience and and an incredible fruit beer.

Thanks to Ross or Craig I think they brought it to the Spring(ish) tasting in Knoxville. A hard cherry aroma from a deep rich red pour. A very cherry, cherry flavor that was just incredible. Anyone who says they don’t like fruit beers should try this one. Carbonation was excellent. I can’t say enough about it. It is the wifes favorite craft beer now.

this stuff is great. a bit on the thick side with just the right amount of carbonation. the flavor of sour cherry is prominent, but not overpowering at all. lives up to the hype. highly recommended

I once worked at a bar that had this on tap. You really can"t appreciate the color until you have poured it into a 2 liter boot. Great aroma and taste.

sample from bottle at DLD - Pours red with a thin head. It has a sweet cherry aroma that’s really nice and leads into an even better flavor. It’s fairly sweet with a great cherry flavor and mild spice. This medium bodied brew finishes tart and lingers a bit on the palate. This beer is to be savored and definitely lives up to the hype.

From bottle on trip to Wisconsin. Best fruit beer I’ve personally tried. Not complex-- just a well balanced cherry flavor. Not too sweet, cloying, or citrusy. Just smooth and simple cherry flavor. Highly recommended from a guy who doesn’t normally like fruit beers.

Thanks to NFLMVP for trading me this bottle. Thick and rich in the mouth, but light on the tongue as well with the carbonation. Not tart at all, but has a certain wild bite to it. Very nice sweetness enhanced by, and enhancing, the massively beautiful fresh cherry flavor. Still, despite the lack of tartness or sourness, it finishes dry. Also a good amount of a flavor of mulled spices. Reminds me a good bit of apple cider. What apple cider would taste like with a huge cherry addition. I actually expected it to be far more tart and/or sour. If it were, this would be one of my absolute favorite beers, but I am a huge sucker for flemish sours. As it is, other than KRE, a fruit beer can’t get much better. Complex, rich, tasty.
