Cliff (355), Avon Lake, Ohio, USA May 2, 2007 Bottle, poured a hazy deep pinkish/purple. Aromas of cherries, lots and lots of cherries. Very sweet flavor with sour tartness in the finish. Smooth bubbly mouthfeel that makes your tongue tingle. The flavor is all cherry, and it is quite delicious and refreshing. This beer was very good, too sweet for me to drink a lot of it, but it was quite delicious. wheninhell (485), louisville, Kentucky, USA May 2, 2007 Huge thanks to Brandon at Carley Raes for providing us with this gem. murky orange tinted cherry red with a disappearing white head. some lacing. aroma....cherry pie filling.....very nice homemade cherry pie filling. simple and straightforward but very nice aroma. nice balanced sweet/tart cherry pie filling flavor with a hint of black pepper spice. nice sweet/tart slightly dry finish. medium body. somewhat lively carbonation. the thing that makes this beer so interesting is the fact that these guys seemed to capture the aroma and flavor of cherry pie filling dead on. straightforward but very good beer. GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA May 1, 2007 Pours a deep crimson amber color w/ a medium sized, pink spritzy froth. Hang time is nil but residual lacing is full. Aromas of fresh, tart, cherry pie. Nice! Medium full nectar w/ creamy residual effers. Huge, fresh sweet cherries from just underripened to perfectly ripe. A defind tartness balances the moderate sweetness. Other nuances of pommegranite, lemonaide, w/ slight biscuiting. The finish is bitterd w/ a tar, acidic component. This brew is thirst quenching and very drinkable. I have to add. I drank this after a pizza dinner. When I eat pizza, I can’t quench my thirst. I can keep drinking until I am uncomfortable. I popped this open and it totally quenched my thirst. First time ever. Thanks Glarus ! madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA Apr 30, 2007 Bottle from Steves. Pours hazy red/brown, thin white head. Wow, big cherry aroma, like cherry cool aid. Quite tart cherry taste, not really sour, just up front tartness. Bready malt backbone. Very sweet, not sugary, just fruit sweet. Very good. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 29, 2007 WBF - Raleigh. Bottle. Slightly hazy deep red body. Sweet but slightly tart cherry aroma. Sweet cherry flavor, quite like a cherry pie. nhorween (639), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 29, 2007 Updated: Aug 20, 2007Bottle, thanks sersdf (and cmubeerman?). Cloudy red color with a white head. Fruity and yeasty aroma, tart and citrus, interesting, intensely fruity. Taste is so smooth, alcohol is totally hidden. Tart, cherries everywhere. Finely bubbled, fresh and excellent. Definitely the best fruit beer I’ve had. kujo9 (1077), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA Apr 27, 2007 750 ml bottle... Thank you Bill Hoyt! Red apple colored body w/ a thin, short lived off white head. Tart and sweet cherry aromas, remeniscent of a cherry lollipop, and maybe due to the color, but I also get some apple notes. Not much in the way of mallts as far as aroma goes until it warms up. After it warms, it becomes biscuit malt like, and still intensely cherry. Flavor is again, very intensely cherry, lightly tart in the finish, and balances in the aftertaste. Cherry throughout the flavor from start to finish. Also sweet in the finish. Seems to be very little malt presence beyond the cherries, maybe a little bready, but beyond that, very cherry dominated. Medium carbonation, medium body, and a bit of a burn from alcohol, surprising w/ a 5.1% beer. Overally I enjoy this beer! I wouldn’t drink more than one at a time, but I like cherries/cherry flavors, and sweet things, so that could explain my fascination w/ this particular beer.Very unique and would probably go well wil a lot of desserts. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA Apr 15, 2007 Updated: Oct 19, 2008Nice tart cherry nose with a very soft malt background. Very delicate and somewhat overly sweet on the palate. Tastes like cherry pie filling, unfortunately I HATE pie. Would prefer it top be much drier.
