3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to Rogueone for sharing a bottle. Dark brownish-black with a touch of red around the edges. Medium tan head that dissipates steadily, and stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt, pine and hops. Medium body with a resiny hops character and notes of grapefruit and caramel malt. The finish is very clean with a moderately bitter piney hops aftertaste. Solid Black IPA overall.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Light nose, some hoppiness. Jet black pour, with thin light tan head. Love the taste. Well integrated hops with coffee and maltiness - nice black ipa that isn’t over the top. Good palate, lingers nicely.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle courtesy of GhostFace. It pours up brown with clear amber edges and a tan head that leaves behind light spotty lacing. The aroma offers up a pleasing rich load of pine hops and dank to spicy hops mixing with dark roasted malts. The taste is very similar where the hops take the flavor lead with a blending of dank to spicy hops to resiny pine hop goodness. Well behind the hops are murmurs of dark roasted malts and faint chocolate malts that grow a tad and then linger into the finish. Darn tasty, this.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark brownish black pour with thin off white almost tan head, aroma brought notes of slight mineral, grass, roast, some earthy and pine notes but mixing well with some cocoa, coffee notes, very interesting but I wonder how old this bottle is. Taste is some grass, slight soapy/floral/mineral notes, touch of cocoa powder, hints of earthy grain, some touch of roast and coffee, finishing fairly bitter, slight dryness as well.

Aroma is spruce/piney hops and a mild hint of the dark malts. The flavor is heavy and fresh grapefruit, citrus, a hint of lemons, an undercurrent of malts and a tangy/tart finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice run of the mill black IPA. Nothing special here, though better than a lot that I’ve had. Aroma was decent. Hints of chocolate malt and coffee with a decent hop aroma, though smells a little stale. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a one finger near tan head. Taste was very grassy and earthy. The pine and citrus hops play with dark bitter roasted malt The bitter flavors of the two don’t really get along, but battle for dominance (as most in the style IMO). Nice carbonation. Decent beer
