Pour would do well for a commercial. Aroma is nice for an IPA. Taste just the right bitterness. Molasses can be tasted, bottle says there is also chocolate but I can’t tell. Overall a really good beer.

This is a great IPA in Black. A creeper of a hop aroma. Heavy on the hop light on the caramel full on the flavor!

Bottle courtesy of Weihennweizer. Sweet milk chocolate and light mint aroma. Smells for all the world like a glass of slightly minty chocolate milk. Deep chestnut with a moderate beige head. Chocolate and roasty malt, spicy minty spruce hops and light anise flavor. Medium body, lively carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Good pale ale, got a little of the bitter hops from the smell. But the malt they used in addition to the molasses really overpowered the typical bitter nature of an IPA. If this beer were labeled a Black Pale Ale, I would have scored it much higher.
