COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We invite you to discover this newest beer style Black IPA. Political debate rages over the origins of this jet black beer as both coasts feel they deserve credit. Our Black Top is a pleasant road connecting Villages and Communities statewide on a ride of Black IPA discovery. Expect this beer to pour a hop forward jet black glass brimming with aromatic bitterness. Brewmaster Dan skillfully weaves molasses and chocolate malt undertones with a soaring rush of clean citrus and pine hop notes, to deliver a drinkable Black IPA. Savor Black Top, like Wisconsin’s miles of licorice ribbons of ink that meander through armies of corn and bovine mowed fields. Enjoy the journey on a road less traveled.

A Black IPA? Really? I think this is great beer by New Glarus, who seem to alway offer a few new beers every year.

Not a big IPA fan but I really enjoyed this. I didn’t feel like I had a mouthful of hops for hours like I do with most IPA’s. Good balance.

This is a great IPA in Black. A creeper of a hop aroma. Heavy on the hop light on the caramel full on the flavor!

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark brown with a ruby hue and minimal head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits with some caramel and roasty coffee. Taste is light bitter. Roasty dark malts and loads of citrus and tropical fruits with a little bit of pine. Medium bodied with a sonewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, pretty good. One of the better black ipas ive had.

Bottle courtesy of Weihennweizer. Sweet milk chocolate and light mint aroma. Smells for all the world like a glass of slightly minty chocolate milk. Deep chestnut with a moderate beige head. Chocolate and roasty malt, spicy minty spruce hops and light anise flavor. Medium body, lively carbonation.
