3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
"definitely smells and tasted like a dry irish underneath - the thin body being the only drawback of this otherwise very good brew. I was hoping for a BIGGER beer, but the plethora of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate flavors was nice. Maybe a touch of clove in the aroma too? Good, not great."

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reviewed from notes. Thanx Greg.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color. Thin quarter white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than forty five seconds.
Lacing, yeah, I guess that was there, uh...kinda and in a messy sort of way (why the hell is every beer I’m having tonight has a messy sort of lacing?), sorry for the stupid disclaimer.
The smell had a full roasted coffee bean conglomerated aspect of leading to a light dark chocolate and then a light milk chocolate. Both seem to stay subdued enough to not overdo anything whatsoever.
The taste was roasty and sweet with a super nice bittering coffee underneath.
On the palate, this one sat right at a medium on the body. The carbonation was there, but honestly not bad for the style and for me. There’s a light harshness that allows a light creaminess to pervade lightly on through and onto my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a good American Stout that I would have again if I could get it. I’m glad I had the opportunity to try it and am slightly jealous of the state of Wisconsin to have this on a regular basis.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black pour with a light tan head. Aroma is big coffee with notes of cocoa and roasted malts. Flavor is fairly robust for a low abv stout. Lots of coffee and roasted notes coming through. Very easy to drink but with plenty of flavor too. Nice stout.

Bottle. Dark black with thin tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, and light roasted barley. Light body, light coffee, dark chocolate, and malt. One of the better coffee stouts I’ve had.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours very dark brown with a large, light brown head.
Coffee, cream, chocolate aroma.
Taste is nicely roasted coffee, cream, milk, chocolate malt.
A lot of flavour packed into this relatively light beer....
An excellent, everyday drinking stout.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle pours dark brownish black with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee. Taste is coffee, dough, dark chocolate and toast. There’s a creamy quality to this stout. Thin body and not much after taste. Mild and smooth. Pretty good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pitch black with beige head, which dissipates quite quickly. Aroma of coffee and citrus. Flavor is light and not very complex: a light or medium roast coffee note, with a slight maltiness. Finishes with a bit of sweetness, which does not linger long. It really is a decent beer. I would never turn one down, but found myself wishing for a bit more complexity.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home. Pour is deep brown, almost black with a frothy tan head and great lacing. Big roasty cocoa, marshmallows, graham crackers, earthy hops, husky, and espresso in the aroma. Taste is roasted chocolate, coffee grounds, grassy, toasted bread, cola, husky, and black licorice. Medium body with high carbonation. Nice stout especially for something available in six packs and seriously hard to believe its below 5%.
