Pitch black with beige head, which dissipates quite quickly. Aroma of coffee and citrus. Flavor is light and not very complex: a light or medium roast coffee note, with a slight maltiness. Finishes with a bit of sweetness, which does not linger long. It really is a decent beer. I would never turn one down, but found myself wishing for a bit more complexity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Pour is deep brown, almost black with a frothy tan head and great lacing. Big roasty cocoa, marshmallows, graham crackers, earthy hops, husky, and espresso in the aroma. Taste is roasted chocolate, coffee grounds, grassy, toasted bread, cola, husky, and black licorice. Medium body with high carbonation. Nice stout especially for something available in six packs and seriously hard to believe its below 5%.

Pours black with a medium mocha head...decent lacing and retention. Aroma has nice mild roastiness and just a touch of coffee. Flavor follows suit and adds notes of bitter chocolate and very mild smoke. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a dry roasty finish that has mild coffee.

Pitch black with a khaki-colored head; Good lacing. Aroma of roasted barley, coffee and chocolate. Very roasty flavor but with notes of chocolate, floral & bitter hops and Roasty aftertaste; Coffee shines through as it warms up. Heavy body but fairly mild carbonation. Pretty tasty.

Pours an almost black with a nice tan head. Bought from IGA in Washburn might be a little old because the coffee takes the back seat to the dark fruit flavors.

12oz bottle purchased from Woodmans in Kenosha, WI. I’m not sure if I was late in the season in getting this, but the coffee seems to be fairly muted here. Still, New Glarus have here a coffee stout that fits right in with their malt and flavor forward style. This stout will not knock you out for the day/evening and would be great with a Sunday roast dinner.

Rich and full bodied is this stout. Pours a nice jet black color. Coffee on the nose, follows onto the palate with cocoa, and roasted malt character.
