| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 3, 2010 Bottle at BA Tasting at Cool Springs Brewery. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of coffee. Lighter side of medium bodied with a somewhat thin mouthfeel, average carbonation. Flavor follows the aroma, with notes of medium roast coffee, nutty malts, and dark roasted malts. Not bad, but not exciting either. MrChopin (706), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 1, 2010 Bottle thanks to brian23456 (BA)!Dark brown with a beige head that won’t go away. Lots of burnt coffee and roasted malt, maybe minor licorice as well. Flavor is rather weak, some milk chocolate and coffee but neither is definite or well-developed. The thin palate doesn’t help, and the short finish leaves the flavor looking even weaker. Needs more to entice the drinker. Sparky27 (1642), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2009 Bottle by way of Bockyhorsey at the Black Friday tasting – thanks Bill! Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. The nose is coffee grounds, chocolate and burnt malt. The taste is cocoa, coffee and malt. Medium bodied. OK brew. obguthr (1081), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 30, 2009 Barley rich medium roast coffee aroma. Cloudy brown, thin tan head. Medium body, even on the thin side for the style. Coffee and cola flavor. Powdery mouthfeel. Lackluster finish, maybe some clove. Not a bad beer at all, but New Glarus isn’t as spectacular as some would have you believe. I think I’ll stick to the beers that are available in my state and leave these to the good people of Wisconsin. esjaygee (1600), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Brown with ruby highlights and one finger creamy tan head dissipating into a thin layer. Chunks suspended throughout. Aroma of coffee, dark roasted malts, light chocolate and a touch of sweetness. Taste of acidic coffee, roasted malt, mildly sweet, mildly bitter. Creamy and east drinking, better than road slush. bonk0076 (94), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Pours a deep brown color with a moderate mocha head that quickly dissipates leaving little lacing. Aroma features strong coffee notes, with hints of chocolate and molasses underneath. Taste begins with the bitterness of the coffee, and finishes with a subtley sweet note of molasses. Slightly tart as a whole. Block (379), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2009 This one is best served as the label suggests, room temperature. Aroma of dark chocolate and fruit with a little coffee. Flavor is dominated by malts and coffee. Not too strong and very smooth. Refrigerated this beer as a slight sour finish and is much more dull. weitz15 (87), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA
