Swalden28 (1442), McKinney, Texas, USA Oct 31, 2009 Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a murky yellow with white fizzy head. Aroma is very malty, caramel and a little grainy. Flavor of malt and fruity esters. Mouth feel is light body. Overall, not bad.....Isn’t a "Dunkelweizen" supposed to be a dark wheat??? This does not seem like a Dunkelweizen.... blutt59 (2045), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 26, 2009 bottle, thanks to bu11zeye, lsight cloudy yellow with a nice sweet chardonnay aroma, flavors of citrus, honeydew and slightly hoppy on the finish ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA Oct 24, 2009 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. poured yellowish gold with a white head. aroma of grains, honey, and some slight spice. flavor was lemony grains with a light body. angrypirate06 (680), Texas, USA Oct 23, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. BMan1113VR (2758), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Oct 23, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazy brown body and a tan head. Aroma of butter, brown sugar, wheat and a lot of caramelized malt aromas. Taste is fruity and sweet with some whet wheat. Thinnish mouthfeel. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 26, 2009 12oz bottle into a wheat glass awhile back. This was a solid brew and a pretty good example of the style. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Jul 6, 2009 Sudsy and rather quick, ecru head over a light hazed copper body with some larger yeast chunks in suspension (moreso nearing the end of the bottle). Aroma is mostly caramel malt, slightly stale, without much else besides a whiff of vanilla-hued pale malt late. Flavor finds big caramel with a hint of banana along with a shaving of metallica, finishing with an obvious clunk of pure sugar and dirt. A mid-bodied palate does little to suspend what little this beer has to offer. Maybe this aged too long (based on the previous rating), but.... I like to age beers. Is that so wrong? ~~~~~~~~~ Bottle of unknown origin. Consumed July 2009.
BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA May 7, 2009 If you have one a bottle left over, OPEN IT RIGHT NOW, this beer is peaking. Aroma of bananas, wheat, even some caramel. Similar flavor, extremely balanced. Sweet malt, dough, butterscotch, mild spice.. Great beer!
