This ďNobel-PilsnerĒ is the creation of our brewmaster. He brought special yeast from Bavaria, combined it with Wisconsin barley and the finest Bavarian and American hops. Then employing traditional brewing methods, this Pilsner is finished with a long cold rest in our cellars. Expect this bier to be creamy and full-bodied with a smooth finish.

This beer is a perfect example of how some beers are overlooked by the RateBeer crowd simply because theyíre not high-gravity supercharged IPAs or demon-infused imperial stouts. Itís ranked 96th percentile by style but only 75th overall? Some styles get no respect, and while big complex relatively new styles are getting all the attention these days, itís easy to overlook just how difficult it is to do a comparatively simple pilsener really well instead of just "acceptably well." And so it is with New Glarus Edel-Pils. <P>It pours a nice heavy golden straw color, a bit darker than your average pilsener. Lively carbonation forms a thin head which soon gives way, but the bubbles never stop sliding up the sides of the glass. Wonderful slightly sweet malt and crisp, floral hop aroma. Exceptionally clean medium bitter hop flavor with sweet pale malt and a hint of citrusy sour grain. Medium mouthfeel. Creamy smooth palate is alive with carbonation. This is an exceptionally well-done pilsener -- one of the best in America if not the world, and certainly in my top five. Donít overlook it just because itís below 12%ABV and isnít brewed with pomegranate molassas.

Pours golden yellow with a sudsy white head. The aroma has clean pale malt and is richer than most pils with the hops taking a back seat. The malt is perfect & wish there were more hops, but it is still fantastic. Medium body that is thicker and richer than most in the style with smooth underscored sharp carbonation. The flavor begins with rich pils malt and a bit of spicy / grassy hops. The finish is a bit hoppier and it is extremely clean. Fantastic version of a pils.

Poured a big frothy eggshell white head, pale straw yellow hue body. Smells malty, mild spice from the hops, noble? Tastes so smooth, finishes sweet, but perfectly balanced with hop bitterness (no significant hop flavors, but hop presence obviously helps). Palate is medium bodied. SUPER drinkable, definitely a session beer, but also thought provoking. New Glarus is making me reconsider a good lager for my go-to summer drink.

Great pilsener. Looks clear, bold and fizzy. Tastes light, clean and balanced, with a grapey sweetness. New Glarus again makes me glad to live in Wisconsin.

Purchased at a random gas station in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed while my band played at an art space in that city, also enjoyed at home on a rainy work night. Appearance is a crisp gold with a rich and frothy white head. Aroma of light lager yeast and bready malt, smells pretty nice. Taste goes down crisp with a bready afterfinish and very subtle lemon notes. This is a fantastic pilsener, one of the best Iíve had. Well done, New Glarus!

Overall a nice taste, clean aftertaste that doesnít stick around long. Itís a little fruitier than I normally like, but generally decent.

12 oz. bottle thanks to a friendís trip to the brewery. Pours a clear golden color with a finger of white head that settles into a film and leaves good lacing. Aroma is malty; plenty of pils malts, dough, straw, and cracker. A little grass. The flavor has pils and biscuity malts, slightly sweetened cereal, light melon fruit, grass, and straw. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a clean, malty mouthfeel. Holy smokes. This is fantastic.

A very delicious pils. A good crisp bite, above average but balanced hops. Slightly dark. Very refreshing.

Mildly clear golden color with a filmy head. Aroma consists of yeast, biscuits, pale malts, faint floral hops and a slightly sweet-grassy scent. Flavor is yeasts, sweet & pale malts, and a slight grassiness. Very sweet tasting for a Pilsener. Body is fairly light but the carbonation packs a punch, it helps the flavor but at the same time, gives it some stinginess. A great tasting Pilsener overall!

bottle, poured quickly, lots of carbonation, lasting head, lots of honey, short finish. Great pilsener with no hint of skunk unlike green-bottled pilseners.
