3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange with a small off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is caramel and hazelnuts. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet hop and light roasted malt with nice bitter finish. Easy to drink, a good brown ale from New Glarus.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2013 Yeast and malt with a slight (fruity) sweet aroma. Caramel brown with off white foamy head that leaves a fair amount of lacing. Not bad. Lighter than it looks but still a good medium body. Malty roasty flavor with a smooth sweetness and slight bitter finish.

From a bottle. Pours slightly cloudy light brown. Flavor is clear, crisp, and of roasted malt. Not really that nutty. Very quaffable for a darker beer. Clean smooth finish. Certainly nothing offensive but also nothing to make you go wow.

Poured from a 12 ounce refrigerated bottle received so graciously from weihenheizen. Thank you. Poured a dark amber, brown color with a tightly packed head of darker beige foam. Translucent. The aroma is rather malty with just a hint of coffee bitterness. Roasty is a good fit. I can really pick up on the hazelnut toward the backend of the swallow. Taste is roasty and nutty. Pretty tasty stuff, all around.

six pack driven to TX from WI; brown pour with malty caramel aroma. Taste was meh; very thin; caramel and slight nuttiness but not much else happening here - average brown...

Clear dark brown with tan head. Malt is very sweet. Not caramel type sweet. Very hop taste or bitterness. Tasty brown ale that is a bit to sweet for me

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour has almost zero head. Nose has roasty nutty notes, with some slight caramel. Color is pretty average. Taste is smooth, almost no hops up front. Pleasantly malty. Overall a clean beer, following the lines of other nut brown ales, is well made, but not much different from other breweries.

Got a real perfect balance of sweet an savoury. Very English style, incredibly drinkable. Full but light. Smooth and nutty. Powdery chocolate and very relaxed carbonation.
