3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a rich "cola" brown with a medium thick tan head. Strong biscuit aroma. Tastes good, slightly sweet, just a smidge syrupy. A pleasant slightly nutty aftertaste. Definitely an enjoyable beer, but Iím still more of a Pale Ale guy.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle: Pours chestnut brown with a nice tan head and ample CO2 release. Aroma of nutty toasted malts with a hint of cheap American lager that kills the warm nuttyness. Taste is good roasted malts, nothing too fancy or overpowering. Palate is a little harsh but ultimately goes down smooth. Pretty good overall.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear, copper color, with a generous, tan head that faded fast. Sparse lacing. The nose is toasted grain and caramel, malt, and notes of nuts and a mild hop bite. The flavor is mildly sweet. Medium bodied brew with lively carbonation. Very nice!

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
I am a huge fan of this brewery, but this style is just not my thing. Not much of an aroma, brown in color, with not much of a head on the pour. Hints of coffee (which I donít drink) and hazelnut. Very earthy flavor. Love the brewer, not the style.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nuts, caramel, and toffee dominate the aroma on this brown ale. All follow onto the palate. Finishes with an interesting earthy nutty flavor.

While visiting Wisconsin I found New Glarus Fat Squirrel. I found it to be one of the best craft brewed beers I have tasted. Too bad it is only sold in Wisconsin.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a medium-deep chestnut color with an off-white head, superior retention and lacing. Nose is caramel, nuttiness, hops, toasted bread. Mouth is medium bodied, those same caramel malts, dates, mild sweetness that fades quickly, not much of a finish body. I find brown ales to be a feast or famine style and this one isnít really all that Iíd hoped it would be... a bit weak to be honest. Plenty of squirrels up here in the Dells but I havenít seen any actual fat ones... but it is the end of a very long winter, so thatís not surprising.

Not a very strong smell when the bottle is cracked. It is a slightly darker beer in appearance and feels amazing in your mouth. Not so sure about the taste

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The appearance fuses a hazy brown color with a large off-white head, and the aroma blends toasted and nutty malts and a hint of earthy hops. The taste is mildly sour and a touch sweet, and the palate fuses an average carbonation, fairly abrupt but nutty finish, medium body, and a slick and thin texture.
