A - Pours a chestnut brown body with a fleeting cream head that forms a thin collar.
S - Sweet grain, oak wood, vanilla, raw walnuts, toasted sweet bread.
T - Toffee/caramel malt rounded out with notes of nutmeg, vanilla, oak and nuts. Hops take on a grassy/peppery role.
M - Light to medium body, well carbonated, creamy texture.
Very tasty. The malt is nice and sweet with plenty of nutty flavors going on. The hops add a nice spice. Just a well rounded Brown Ale. Very impressed!

A very good brown ale. Balanced and fun to drink. Nothing extreme, but a good beer to be enjoyed with food.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jmagnus87 (1450) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - MAR 26, 2013
12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear nut brown with a half finger off-white head. Aroma of caramel and roasty nuts. Taste is light bitter. Roasty caramel malt with a little dark chocolate. Light bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. New Glarus does better beers than this one though.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jhamp9 (760) - Corinth, Texas, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Clear mahogany pour with a nice lasting off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is hazelnut, toast, faint brown sugar, and some bread. Taste is hazelnut, bread, with a bit of grassy hops. Nutty aftertaste. Mildly sweet overall. Smooth on the palate. Nice beer.

Uploading old reviews that were missing comments. Pleasant nut brown with a good malt profile and just enough nuttiness. Very enjoyable.

Uninspiring pour - almost no head that dissipates in seconds. Smell is almost medicinal. Taste is satisfactory but on the bitter side. Would much rather have a Spotted Cow if given the choice.

Bottle @ a recent bottle share... Poured deep reddish/ruby with little-to-no head. Mouthfeel was flat and dull. This was a muddled mess and even had a faint tartness going on. Malt sweetness with some nutty tones. Bitterness and hop balance were absent too. One of the first New Glarus beers I have had that I wanted to drain pour.
