Haslinger (464), Syracuse, New York, USA Apr 27, 2008 Bottle, this is one of New Glarus’ flagship beers and I understand why. Pours a nice brown. Aroma is nutty and malty very good. Easy to drink, nutty and refreshing. Delicious
Would buy again
mistersinalin (250), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jul 22, 2008 Brown, ba-ba-brown-brown. I had this right after a Hop Hearty Ale and I wouldn’t recommend it. The maltiness of this beer could not be fully enjoyed because of this oversight. All in all a good brew, but I’ll need to try it again later. dkoonce (725), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. A malty, sweet brown ale, with a strong roasted malt aroma. Heavier than other brown ales. nqualls (15), Tennessee, USA Jul 22, 2008 Fat Squirrel was one of the best beers I have tried lately. Good head and carbonation. Just sweet enough not to be obnoxius. Wish I could get New Glarus all the time down in TN.
davidoc (107), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 20, 2008 Poured mahogany from the bottle with a thin white head. Odor and flavor of chocolate. AOF (277), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jul 20, 2008 Gotta say I absolutely loved this one. Just one of those right beers at the right moment.
Pours a medium brown with a decent off white head. Sugary chocolate malt nose with a subtle roasted pecan nuttiness. Light to medium in body and very smooth on the palate. Sweet, but not overly so. Slightly hoppy finish makes this one nearly perfect.
