Commercial Description:
100% Wisconsin malt of six different varieties impart the natural toasted color to the bottle conditioned unfiltered ale. Clean hazelnut notes result from these carefully chosen barley malts. Hops from Slovenia, Bavaria and the Pacific Northwest give Fat Squirrel its backbone.

12oz bottle. Pours medium amber, with a huge off-white head. Sweet malty aroma, with nutty overtones. Flavor begins with sweet roasted caramel malt, along with some chocolate. Finish with some hazelnut bitterness. Delicious and refreshing; if this were available in my area, it would be my go-to session ale.

Rich & hazy amber color. Not much of a head but the low carbonation goes down easy. Slightly hoppy taste with a distinct nutty overtone. Not a big fan of the brown ales but I would drink this again.

Pour is a rich amber with a thick head that settled to a thin white haze quickly. The aroma is brown sugar, nutty, and sweet, with a hoppy hint to it. The flavor is real nutty with a little bitter finish. This beer is smooth and refreshing, but nothing real special about it.

The pour is a clear, reddish amber color. A large, foamy, cream colored head settles slowly to a thin film with a fat edge. Sticky, honeycomb lacing marks the glass well. The aroma shows roasted hazelnuts and walnuts, caramel, brown sugar, and cream. A hint of cinnamon and earthy spice shows on a deep inhale. Flavors are sweet and caramel based, with a persistent hazelnut note that is really pleasing. Brown sugar and vanilla lend nice depth of flavor, while floral and earthy hops balance things out a bit. There’s a vanilla hazelnut liquor finish on this one, which is nice. Medium-light bodied and very smooth, this brew feels like it would be a nice transition brew from summer going in to Fall. Very good beer.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a thick, long lasting Belgian looking beige head. Aromas are very prominent, but is a light roasted malt nuttiness. Flavors are some roasted malt, but mostly light sweet caramel and nuts. Light to medium body with a quick dry finish. Kind of odd for a brown ale, but pretty good though.

Bottle pours a brown color with a off white head. Has a nice aroma with hints of yeast, nuts, slight malt notes, and an overall sweetness. Has a medium-light mouthfeel. Taste is smooth roasted caramel with nutty flavors shining through. Very nice and is a solid nut brown ale.
