COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Embrace a classic! Home Town Blonde is an old world style pilsner, assertively hopped with four premium hop varieties. Tettninger, Saaz, Styrian Golding and Strisselspalt varieties all grace this German-style brew with the complex character you enjoy in a classic pilsner. Expect to pour an elegant blonde glass of beer, crowned with a rich head of foam that resonates with our chorus of hops. Although delicate in appearance, our Hometown Blonde has a backbone, but of course that’s no surprise in Wisconsin. Enjoy!

Pour is a light off golden color w/ a crips thick white head and some nice lacing. Aroma is clearly hoppy more so than I expected thinking I was getting a blonde. Palate is smooth but not big, full but not thick.. if that makes any sence. Flavor is well hopped some floral and grassy notes w/ a good amount of grain and not much sweetness. Fairly bitter. A great beer for the sytle.

Aroma is that wonderful European toasty pale malt, like a fresh bottle of Czechvar, taste is the same toasted malt, with much more spicey hop and zing then your European pilsners. Name is confusing, makes you think your getting a blonde style brew, should be Hometown Pils

This Pilsner seemed to me a bit more like a pale ale than any thing else. Its the most aggressivley hopped pils I have come across. There is little malt to be found in the taste because the hops dominate the flavor. Very bitter finish. I heard so many good things about this beer that I ordered a case without so much as trying it. Now, the case is gone and I am left with the opinion that my search for the perfect pils goes on.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a slightly hazy light golden color with a one finger thick off white head. Spotty lacing. Aroma is spicey, herbal hops and light grain. Flavor is lightly sweetened malt with a nice hop bitterness. Medium body. A very nice lager. Thanks Bill and Wendy.

Pours crystal clear light golden with a lingering head. Nice spicey hop aroma and flavor. All americans who think they know what a pilsener is, need to try the real thing!!

Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Bob McFarland Liquors in McFarland, WI. Pours a clear golden pale blonde brew with a thin and fast dissolving white head. Aroma of muti-grain breakfast cereal, grassy hops, with a touch of honey. Taste is very high carbonated, light bodied with flavors of light multi-grain and some light peppery spice. Finish is a moderate hop bitter aftertaste that quickly disappears.

12 ounce bottle from Woodmans in Beloit, WI (June 2007) served just a few minutes out of the fridge from a Christoffel glass. A beautiful pour; big frothy, creamy head laces well as it decays above the dark gold/light amber clear body…..grassy, lightly sweet, lightly mineralic aroma (lime, chalk) is fresh enough but a bit subdued….the body is moderately sweet, a bit sticky at first but the juiciness makes me not care so much, drying out and getting quite bitter and hoppy at the finish, with a hint of dry woods and a touch of sulfur….quaffable enough, but far from this brewery’s best lager.

thanks badgerben! Not as tongue tickeling as the Surly ;0)...spicey and thin, little head and lacing, acidy finish.

Bottle courtesy from Monger: Poured a bright gold yellow color beer with a nice big pure white foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of floral malt with some dry crisp hops is quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by some floral malt with some light sweet notes and a medium dry crisp finish which is quite enjoyable. Body is full for the style with some good carbonation. Another very good beer from a great brewer from a style that produce too much crap IMO.
